We recently moved from a condo to a house. The yard is pretty small, so a gas-engine mower would have been overkill. When I came across this mower, I researched it and found out that Overstock had the best price on the net, especially when you factor in all the available discounts. It came in 4 days after the order was placed, which was fine. Packaging is pretty sturdy, and it took me about 5 minutes to assemble the mower, bag included. Please note that a 14 gauge cable is required for this motor. Anyway, I followed the directions, which were very clear. Setting the height is extremely intuitive, took me about 2 seconds for each axle - there are only 3 settings. Now, this is Houston, TX, in March and the lawn had not been mowed since October. Thick grass and plenty of dead leaves and other debris: no problem for this little mower that could - never even choked. Very light (about 35 lbs), it is easy to handle. The dead-man switch does a good job safety-wise. There were a few branches (about the thickness of a pencil), and they got shredded, no problem, although it is not recommended. Of course, the rear bag is on the small side, but perfectly adequate, and easy to dump. Now that it's been used several times, I checked the blade and it looks great, a few nicks here and there but nothing unusual. Replacement is only about $15 anyway! I worked in the lawn & garden industry for 15 years and know my way around equipment: this is undoubtedly a great little machine, very capable, and with plenty of power for a normal use. Extremely user-friendly, it also looks great! I can only recommend it, especially for the price.
I was really disappointed this was not a USA made product like it says in the product details section (Overstock employees...read the box!). That said, I was pleased with the quality of the product. The seat is a thick plastic wicker with 1" soft foam underneath. The actual seat dimensions are 16-1/2" long, 8-1/2" wide. The kneeling cushion is 1" thick with the same dimensions but stiffer foam. The overall dimensions on the box say 24"L x12"W x 19.8"H. The actual weight is 9lbs, 15oz. It seems to be a sturdy steel construction and has a dark brown finish. The locking/folding mechanisms both work well and feel safe. The framework steel is about 7/8" thick. The box says it has a 5 year warranty by Flexrake (McGuire Industries) out of California. The actual model number is CLA103. We purchased this for my wife who has trouble with her wrists & knees. This makes it easier for her getting up & down from the ground. Minus 1 star since it was inaccurately advertised as made in USA, but it seems to be a quality product.
