  • Very Cool Recycling Idea - LOVE IT -

Love the idea and design of this rug - but it is HARD on bare feet, even with a pad underneath, the texture of all of the pockets sewn together on the stiff backing is not conducive to bare feet or direct sitting.

  • Great trendy piece for any room

When I bought this I was a bit skeptical about how it would look in my living room. Pros: -This is such an amazing piece, it's always been a conversation starter, or perhaps a lack of for the ones who aren't bold enough to ask why are there jean pockets on the floor. It looks beautiful and mosaic on the floor -It's recyclable technology. - It's extremely durable and stain resistant. - Like jeans, it goes well with everything. Cons - due to the denim material, it isn't the softest thing to walk on, so I've added a felted surface rug pad, and though it certainly helps, it's still not very soft.

  • Still love this fun rug a year later

For perspective, our rug is used in our living room near our computers (with a rolling chair moving back and forth often daily plus pass behind traffic). We're a two person typically no-shoes inside household, with one older kitty with claws intact, and no children. (Our cat is very good about only sharpening said claws on her post.) We also bought the Supreme Felted Dual Surface Rug Pad with this rug. (Also from Overstock.) YMMV. Pros: Visually interesting and we have other denim elements in the room, so this works very well for us. We've also gotten complements on it from company. We both agree it's sturdy and unlike what I've read on other reviews of similar rugs using larger pieces of demin, we've never had an issue with bunching or tripping. I think that's mostly due to the smaller pieces being used, and could also be from the carpet pad we bought, which I've been very happy with--that rug hasn't slid even a bit whether it was on the large tile floor or now that it's currently on a wood floor. I like the texture under my feet, yet I can understand how the texture might feel weird to some folks. Once in a blue moon, when I'm pushing my desk chair back, I might have to give a bit more push if the wheel hits a thicker seam wrong. I prefer using this rug than having typical pile carpet where I've had to have the vinyl chair mat on top in the past. As far as cleaning, even when our kitty got sick on the rug, I found it easy to clean with a baking soda/vinegar & water wash with only a brief mild bristle scrubbing needed. I've never had a deep spill on it where I'd have to rent a steam cleaner and flip it to steam both sides, so I can't speak to how that works with this rug. We recently moved to an apartment with a larger living room area, and we're considering getting at least one more, possibly two once I figure out how we'll be laying out the room. Con: (Very minor and one time only.) When I first vacuumed this rug, I noticed some thread was coming loose and I thought "Oh no! It's coming apart." I was wrong, thankfully. Apparently either leftover attachment stitches (pockets to jeans) weren't full removed, or perhaps some stray thread from the finishing of the pocket hems themselves on the inside--I'm not sure which--was the culprit. To be clear--none of the pockets have come loose in the now year we've been using it. So if this happens to you, don't panic like I did. It'll be ok.

  • cool looking area rug
    Verified Purchase

The area rug looks awesome. But keep in mind it is denim--so it isn't that comfortable to walk on and cleaning it is kind of a challege with all the seams. But I have it in a little used guest bedroom to jazz it up some, so for what I want it is fine. But I wouldn't put this in a kids bedroom or someother place where it would be used a lot unless you own a laundromat or dry cleaner to keep it clean.

  • Fantastic, funky area rug-practical and fun
    Verified Purchase

This is an awesome bedroom area rug, rugged enough to withstand dog traffic, and it looks fantastic with our denim theme decor. What a creative design, and we are happy to help recycle jean pockets. The workmanship is superior. Shopping Overstock is a smart and rewarding experience!
