The fixture is attractive, but the dome is much more opaque than I expected. Also, the cfl bulbs have a different base than traditional bulbs. These do not screw in. They have two posts and pop in. I hope it is easy to find replacements. However, they last a fairly long time, so this shouldn't be an issue. Not like replacing incandescents every month or so.

  • Nothing fancy, but works well.

This light does not have a 'wow' factor, but it does it's job. I've installed it in a small bathroom along with a more attention getting light. I like that it is subtle and compliments the other light because it is so subtle. It does not provide a very strong light, but that works really nice at night when you don't want to be blasted by a bright light when you turn the light on. Overall, I believe this was a good choice for my application and would purchase it again.

  • Very unusual lightbulbs

I bought two of these for my kitchen renovation. They are good looking, good quality lights. They came well packed and were easy to hard wire, but they use GU24 light bulbs which no one carries, including Lowes and Home Depot. The GU24 has a pin base rather than a screw-in base. They are available online. If you google GU24 you'll see photos of them. Fortunately, the fixtures came with an initial set of bulbs. The bulbs packed with the fixture give a nice, warm light, similar to two 60-watt incandescents. They are not too flourescent-y and they come on quickly without significant warm-up time. Drawback: can't use a dimmer with these.
