  • I love this little desk

I needed a desk for a small space and this really fit the bill. It was easy to put together and is very stylish as well as functional. I get lots of compliments on the desk and I'm really happy with my purchase. It came quickly as most things do with Overstock. Another great purchase!

  • Great for our daughter's room!

This desk is the perfect size for our daughter. The top allows ample space for her projects and trinkets. The paint color is nice, I would call it ivory or off-white. The paint is very even and arrived scratch free. The drawer opens completely and holds a good amount of artwork and supplies. This desk is also very sturdy. We are extremely pleased with the purchase and our girl loves her new desk. Thanks Overstock!

I took a chance on this desk after debating it with the other well rated 'student desk white' also available from O. The desk had no review, so I very reluctantly decided on it because if its more traditional classic style than the trendy modern design of the student desk. I was initially glad that the product seemed to be packed adequately, but a few [drawer] screws were loose and caused a few mars on the drawer panel. The product was assembled in about 5 minutes. Only the 4 legs had to be attached to the pre-assembled top along with the tightening of the drawer panel with the 3 screws along the latches. One 5/16 flat washer was missing for one of the leg assembly, but I luckily had one at home so please check your parts immediately. One of the biggest disappointments that had me consider returning the product was the back of the desk. Unfortunately O didn't provide the photo (why not?), but I was hoping that the top panel wood overhang detail would continue through the back, which it doesn't and the overhang is simply cut out to sit flush against a wall. This desk is obviously designed to be placed against the wall where the back is not intended to be visible. The back is painted white but it lacks architectural interest and it has a 2 1/2" diameter brown plastic cord guide in the middle of the back that can't be ignored or hidden, so I had to change my original plan and place the desk against a wall instead of facing the room. The white paint on the inside of the drawer corner and and the top panel corner is cracked/chipped already, so I'll have to touch them up along with the drawer panel mars. The desk is not pure white, but rather an ivory or bone white, which I was able to tell from the photo. The top indented decorative groove near the panel edge is carved roughly and you can see the incomplete paint job and chips along the grooves. The laptop drawer design is a plus where you can hideaway your keyboard or laptop along with your books and other supplies. I wish the drawer pulls out a bit more, but it only pulls out about 7", although the actual drawer depth is about 19 1/2", so the product description of "full extension drawer guides offer the full depth of the drawer as usable space" is wrong. With the drawer front panel open, the combined working space is 10" pulled out with the height of 25 3/4" from the floor. I am rating this desk a 4 star because I'm trying to be as objective as possible for people who may be interested in the product, and it may be a good buy for the people who don't intend on having the back being visible. I do like the way the desk shows from enough distance away, and I still think it looks better than the student white desk. I just hope that O does a better job at setting proper expectations with more photos and correct descriptions in the future.
