  • Quality filter system
    Verified Purchase

We ordered this unit and it appears to be a good quality. The stainless faucet is nice and the RO filter system seemed to be good quality. We did not install the unit and returned it to overstock, as it would not fit under our cabinet with a 10" under mount sink and pull out draw at the bottom of the cabinet. Also the holding tank was not as pictured and too tall for the space. It was taller and thinner. We called the manufacturer and it can be installed horizontally, so we asked the cabinet maker to make us a shelf to hold the tank. However with the sink and drawer, event the filters would not fit height size on the other cabinet wall, as they needed an additional 3 1/2" clearance below to change the filters. Also the booster pump requires power, and you cant use the disposal outlet, as that is "off" except when you turn the switch on. So an additional outlet would need to be run. We will be looking for another RO system, but smaller that should fit in our cabinet.

Questions & Answers

  • Q:

"Would I be able to run my water line from refrigerator to this system? The line is used for the ice machine only."

    • A:

Hi mrdwoods, we verified this information with out support team. The system can provide water just to the refrigerator, however there are a few items that would need to be addressed: • The faucet is an airgap faucet which means that it provides a connection to the drain while preventing any backflow from the drain. If the customer wishes to connect only to the fridge and directly connect the waste water to the drain they should check their local plumbing codes. • Additionally, they may want to tee off the line and add an additional valve to flush out the unit. When a membrane is changed, for instance, three tank-fulls are purged. It can be more difficult to purge water through a fridge than through a simple valve. We hope this helps. Thanks for shopping with us.

  • Q:

"I would like to match the new kitchen faucet with the "high end monitor faucet". What is the brand of the monitor faucet? Thank you"

    • A:

Hi pochanie, thank you for your inquiry. We are unable to disclose the manufacturer of some of our products; however, Overstock.com stands behind every product we sell. When necessary we can contact suppliers if a product issue arises. We apologize for the inconvenience.

  • Q:

"i have the watts premier model WP-5 and i do not see any power cords or any place for power to hook up to device so is it possible that it is non electric"

    • A:

Hello tigertigertiger, That is correct. The WP-5 is Non-Electric and works on water pressure only. Please feel free to contact us again with any further questions. Thank you for shopping with us!

  • Q:

"Is power required for the booster pump to work?"

    • A:

Hi flight7, unfortunately I was unable to confirm your question with the manufacturer. Sorry for the inconvenience have a great day!

    • A:

We ended up ordering and returning this item. Yes, power is required for the booster pump and the unit comes with an AC adapter. Note that the outlet under your sink powering the disposal will not work for this, as that outlet is "off" except when you switch the disposal on. So an additional outlet will need to be run.

    • A:

Hi flight7, unfortunately I was unable to confirm your question with the manufacturer. Sorry for the inconvenience have a great day!

We ended up ordering and returning this item. The faucet is not made of plastic, and is a nice quality.

  • Q:

"Hello, is it possible to attach this to an existing faucet and not use that secondary faucet?"

    • A:

Thank you for contacting us, the tubing from the RO to the faucet is ¼” (one quarter inch) flexible tubing. If they have an auxiliary faucet already in place then yes, you can use the faucet that you already have. Most auxiliary faucets are ¼ inch so there should not be a problem. Please let us know if you have any further question.

  • Q:

"does this require replacement filter(s) ? how many? and where would I get them"

    • A:

Thank you for your inquiry; you will be contacted by Customer Care.

    • A:

Yes - the RO system has one sediment and two carbon filters that are recommended to be changed every 6 months. The inline filter that you see at the top of the RO system only needs to be changed annually. The RO Membrane itself is every 2 - 5 years. The filter kit is called "Watts Premier 500024 7 Pack Replacement Filter Kit"
