We liked it so much we bought a second one for another downspout. It looked much more 'plastic' on the site. Once delivered, the physical product actually looks more like a sandstone finish than expected. We wanted something that didn't scream 'rain barrel' and we got it!
Love the size of this rain barrel; however, it must be placed up onto concrete blocks as the bottom hose opening is too close to the ground to allow for the proper angle, and the hose is a bit too short - it gets a crimp when it hangs on the hook from the top of the barrel which will be problematic over time.
I bought this combination rain barrel-fountain to solve a specific problem that I have, namely that in heavy rain, water pours over the side of my roof tile and not into the gutter. This model is useful because it's wide on top and incorporates an attractive pebble covered fountain that looks nice at the front entrance to my house. The kit comes with everything included to look like the picture on the box. The plastic construction seems to be adequately sturdy. Two problems: instructions for assembling it were poor, and the hose that attaches to the drain leaked, so that I had to remove it altogether and close it with a three-way valve that is included. I will need to replace the hose at another time. One design feature that could be improved would be to have an on-off switch for the fountain. Since the pump is submerged at the bottom of the rain barrel, the only way to turn it on or off is to plug it in or unplug it.
