Great value for the money

First of all, this bookcase IS laminate, similar to a countertop. The wood is MDF. However, the laminate wood grain is very nice and looks very nice. A lot of MCM furniture at the time was laminate so it fits in with the time period and materials. The glass sides and door inserts are real, smoked glass. The doors are heavy and feel solid. The bookcase itself is a bit wobbly once assembled; I plan to resolve with with some metal bracing on the back. I also upgraded the legs with wood legs accurate to the MCM period and also a few brushed nickel pull handles, both from Amazon. The LED strip lights attach with adhesive; I chose to install LED puck lights I already had on hand. These additional tweaks made the piece feel more period and upscale for very little money. For the low cost, I'm extremely pleased with this bookcase!
