Fantastic Quality for the Price
These shelves are an absolute bargain for the cost! So many other companies charge 4x or 5x as much for the same quality. I know, because I've regrettably purchased from them! These are solid wood with a really nice and long grain pattern. One of my photos shows the shelf compared to a pine plank so you can see the color better. They are super light, which is perfect for shelf material. An informative insert in the box says they're made from the Paulownia Tree if you want to Google it. It's a fast-growing tree and that makes it a more eco-friendly and sustainable (not to mention cheaper) product than a hard wood like oak or even pine. I decided to cut their length down a bit and attach two shelves end-to-end to make one 11ft shelf to span the entire width of my office. It worked amazingly. They cut like butter with no splintering. the wood does scratch easily, so I kept the plastic wrap on until I was ready for the final install. I have an old house with wide and irregularly spaced studs, so mounting them that way wasn't an option for me (but would be recommended if you're can swing it). I opted to use better drywall anchors than the ones provided, which I would also recommend. I saw another review saying the shelves dont fit in their brackets. They do. I tested over 20 brackets on 8 different shelves and they were all perfect. However, if your walls aren't also PERFECT because they bow between studs or whatnot, each bracket may be slightly deeper/shallower than the next. If you buy longer shelves that require you to use multiple brackets, you might have a hard time fitting them in. Save yourself the headache and use a long straight edge or piece of lumber to check the integrity of your drywall. I used shims behind half of my brackets to make sure they were all aligned to each other and it worked out well.
