We've had this tile up in our kitchen as a backsplash for about 3 years now and it looks just as great as the day we installed it. With the tile on a layer of mesh, it was very easy to install. With all small tiles, you do have to be careful when installing to make sure your lines are straight. That was easy enough to do. To this day, our friends are still shocked at the price tag of this tile and how much it elevated the look of our kitchen.
If you cannot tolerate imperfections in your tile, you may not like this one. It definitely has a rustic look to it. For example, the dark green color is not even throughout the tile. Also, some tiles have small blue and green marks on the white area. If you order any of the handpainted tiles from Overstock, order two extra boxes because there were MANY tiles that either had hairline cracks, or the corners were broken a bit, causing the tile to not squarely fit with the others. If anyone would like a picture of the finished product, and a close up of the tile, I'd be happy to provide it Bottom line: you have to expect a less than perfect tile because it is hand made. My kitchen backsplash is bold and beautiful. I would use these tiles again.
if you are into the subway tile but have a short back splash this fits the bill, the tiles are 2x1 inch, they give the look of subway tile without overwhelming the space.
