I decided to give this a try in my living space that I've slowly been switching over to a more modern design. Didn't have any glue on the mirrors as others had stated, just a few smudges that easily wiped off with glass cleaner. Did have one small mirror that had a bent metal edge (probably from shipping damage) but was easily able to bend it out carefully with a protected pliers. Hanging was easy and anchors went in smoothly with the use of a pilot hole of 3/16". Very light weight. I have a large starburst mirror above my fireplace and this sculpture above my smaller sofa.... They are different but work together nicely. Would definitely recommend it. I also get lots of compliments on it from guests since most have never seen anything like it.
WOW! Maybe we just happened to receive a particularly good one, but our copy of this work of art arrived perfect in every way right out of the box. None of the negatives (and there are only a few) in the other reviews apply to this great wall sculpture. It is perfect in size, shape, texture, finish, color and construction. Kudos to the artist. It is great in a soft modern setting, as is the reception room of our company, where it has been exceptionally well received. But it could easily fit in to either a harder modern setting, or a more traditional setting, especially such as one with a Colonial, a New England or a Beachy decor. A truly undervalued item which I thought was worth my time to praise so that others do not hesitate to select it for their own environment.
I've got a modern, open floor-plan house, and this piece is the right style. It's more expensive than it's worth -- it's made of fairly thin, probably recycled metal -- but it has a good look. It has two levels, with one being unpainted metal and the other painted. The photo gives the painted level more of an orange appearance when it looks maroon in real life, with some yellowish-orange highlights. I was going to hang it on a two-story wall, but I changed my mind quickly when I saw how sharp the metal edges are. I actually slashed my hand while taking it out of the box. Not enough for stitches, but I hardly brushed against the edge. If it fell on someone or a pet, it would do serious damage even though it weighs only 10-15 pounds. Mine also arrived slightly damaged. Some of the strips were bent (and were easily bent back), but one of the heavy wire frames that hold it together had broken at the weld. Luckily, I did not need to anchor it to the wall from that strip, so it's no big deal, and any decent welder could patch it in a few seconds. If you're looking for something to go in a less traveled corner of a room, this will work, but it doesn't quite have the scale or color for a larger wall.
Received my mirrored wall sculpture on time and packed very well - very nice and I do like it after a day or two of getting used to seeing something on the wall instead of a big blank wall. It's maybe a little more "modern" than I thought in the photos but it's growing on me daily and it certainly does bring light into the room without the "big mirror" effect of blasting sun directly on you if you happen to be in the right spot on the couch. I would have to agree that I do feel the price was a little steep for the quality/hardiness of the piece but I like it enough that I think it's going to work very well. Pretty happy with my purchase - it it was a heavier or more meaty piece I may have given it 4 stars.
