  • 1 year later, disappointing.

We installed this shower about a year ago. Really liked the price and the look, but there have been issues. We had the base professionally installed, but it settled/warped out of plumb. We had to mount the glass at an angle to make the door seal with the short wall. No fun, but it works and you'd never notice unless you already knew. Not long after we installed it, the glass began to fog over despite religiously spraying it after every use with a shower spray. Soap scum? Hard water? We've tried every spray you can imagine and scrubbing to get it off - no luck. The latest problem and most alarming: nearly every piece of brushed nickel is showing rust spots! Not good. The only reason I didn't give this a 1 star rating is because it was cheap, and I'm hopeful we'll find a solution for the problems. Sigh.

  • Shower Pan Trouble

Shower pan floor is without ribs and made to rest on mud. Amount of mud at different location of tub is different. My plumber set it four time and it never set correct. Either void remain between pan and mud with less mud or all water doesn't drain out with excess mud. Impossible to use correct amount of mud.

  • Quality and style

We bought this shower enclosure after viewing similar shower enclosures for much more at a tile and stone specialty store and not being excited by anything at the big box stores. We were pleased to be able to upgrade to a much higher quality "frameless" enclosure than our budget would have allowed. The glass is very heavy and the metal supports are high quality. We had the extra foot, so we replaced a neo-angle 36 x 36 shower with the 36 x 48 Vigo enclosure and it is much more spacious. We had professionals install the enclosure, but they had no difficulty. It is important to be aware that you will need strong people to just get the package into the house! We liked the enclosure so much that we bought another (even heavier) Vigo enclosure for another bathroom renovation.

  • Great Price!

This was so much cheaper compared to any place I called looking for a glass shower. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is b/c of the 2 "arms" that go from the top of the shower into the wall...I think it makes it look a little cheap, but the price was so cheap that I don't mind them that much. I also liked that it came with a base, which made installation a lot easier.

Quick delivery perhaps the shipment came from VIGO directly and it is only several hours from my home. The reason I picked this product is of course price, $$$ including a acrylic vase. OVerstock was almost the lowerest price, but Overstock is a good internet shop with good reputation. I do not have the courage to buy from some umknown suppliers. Keep in mind that Vigo products are listed in many internet shops. The oversized shipment also came in good shape. But I could not say about the parts for their exact sizes or not since this would not show up until the date of installation. The seconbd reason is that after a lot of research, I found this product is in fact designed with careful mind. All glass edges use clear PCV seals and no silicon glue is needed. The bottom U channel needs silicon. Each fixed glass panel has 2 clamps. I could say that some custom-made suppliers only give you one and they need to glue the edge with silicon to the wall. The fixed glass is held by the u-channel plus the two clamps and should be solid enough, but VIGO adds a top support arm to add stability. But I have to say this is hurting the cosmetics. Also the glass door is hinged to the fixed glass panel, and you must know glass hinges are very expensive. I have not installed the unit and used it, and so I could not say about its real quality. Whether the chrome finishing can be durable is even a long term issue! If allowed I will update this review!
