I absolutely love my iRobot! I have it set to vacuum once a day while I'm away at work. I have 2 snail dogs and never any hair. I definitely recommend this product. Worth every dollar I paid.
I purchased a 900 series I-Roomba vacuum from Overstock about 3 weeks ago. The vacuum worked fine for about 2 weeks. Then it had a number of problems (3). I called customer service at IRobot each time and followed their directions from cleaning the camera to a complete reset. Now they say a component is damaged and it will have to be returned. Now the run-around starts. Take picture of serial number, send copy of your receipt and then wait for iRobot to authorize the return after they verify the warranty (this thing is three weeks old). They verified the serial number on the first phone call and issued a call number which I gave them each time. I called Overstock and explained the situation on the defective iRobot and the manufacture run-around I was getting. Overstock customer service apologized and said we will send you a return label via e-mail and send a new iRobot at the same time. The person I talked to in customer service said if I didn't have the box it came in, wait until the new robot arrives and send the defective one back in the new box. Overstock did not give me any B.S. any hassle or any grief. I can't say enough about how good they handled my problem. I will be buying more from Overstock in the future.
We love the iRobot, but it took several runs to identify all of the places heis likely to get hung up. Since the noise that comes from the iRobot is about as loud as a blow dryer (but not as loud as a vacuum) we normally leave while he runs. In our house (about 2000 sq ft) he gets hung up in places like sliding glass door tracks and can get pinched under the dresser. I bought some noodles from Dollar Tree and cut them to the lengths of the window tracks and other areas, and that fixed the problem. The machine comes with two sensors of areas he needs to avoid, but we need more than that for the size of our house. With all that said, it is amazing what gets picked up and how "high gloss" my hardwoods look after being vacuumed. The dustbin is full of dust, dirt, pollen, hair -- very gratifying to know this stuff is not adding to allergy problems!
We are loving the iRobot Roomba 960 vacuum. My chihuahua doesn't, but he's adjusting. Works great. We do roll up our jute/natural weave rugs so there is no damage to the weaving, but otherwise, it's amazing how much this robot keeps our floors clean!
