I just bought this vacuum, love it, great suction and great attachments. I read a review that said it made your carpets feel fluffier and it does. Also have hardwood floors and it works great on them, my last vacuum would leave a lot of dirt behind, i just vacuumed in bare feet and nothing was left behind, floors felt clean. The self propel feature is great as I have a bad back, only thing I don't like is this vacuum is very heavy and a little awkward when trying to maneuver in tight spaces, but over all a great buy.
I have had about 6 of this model Floormate, and will be upset if I have to eventually move to another model, as this one PERFECT! It has a 27 ft cord, and can take a real beating. I am a rescuer and petsitter with 5 dogs of our own, and I can't imagine ANYONE using their Floormate more than I do. In Florida, with all tile floors, and at least 24 dirty little feet running in and out all day, I could not maintain my reputation as a clean freak without my Floormate. It is SO easy to use, barely different than a vacuum cleaner, and there just isn't another machine out there that can clean every stroke with clean water and suck the dirty water away. The floor dries in about 4-5 minutes, and if you use the cleaning solution made for this type of machine (Hoover's own or Pledge Floor Care no-rinse formula, Walmart/Home Depot/grocery stores) you won't have streaks or water marks left behind. It blows me away that there's ANYONE still out there who swishes around a mop in a bucket of dirty water and swabs their floors with it. GROSS! I couldn't live the life I love without mine.
Named him Jasper. He does a great job! I'm very pleased overall! I Suction is good. I have all terrazzo floors and you can feel any spec of dirt - he gets every inch. I like that everything feels very well built, but it is still easy to take apart wheels, beater bars, etc to keep clean underneath. I have very long hair and a fluffy American Eskimo dog - and these two items usually combine to bind up and be the death of vacuums. So, while I really need to take a quick look underneath every other use, you may not need to. The fact that I can easily pop out the parts to remove hairballs and then EASILY put them back where they go is really nice. The app works fine for me and I do like that it makes a map of what it has cleaned. It will take you a couple of weeks to make small adjustments to your furniture arrangement so he can get everywhere, but he really can get almost anywhere. He does about 1200 sq feet with one charge, unless its extra dirty or there's a lot of stuff in his path. If he doesn't finish, he'll charge a bit and then finish up. For the most part, I've figured out 'one charge' zones in my house. I only have two complaints - 1) He can't always get over the 1/2" marble sill to get into the bathroom - sometimes can, sometimes can't and I 'help' him or he skips it. 2) He seems pretty obsessed with getting under my couch even though it's just a tiny bit too short apparently, and then he gets stuck, calls out, and did produce quite a scratch on the top of my unit. It's a cleaning appliance, so I don't care, but it would be nice if he would remember that he gets stuck there. But overall, he does a great job vacuuming my whole house, it's just a matter of learning your roomba in your house. And if you have pets, just make sure you do a quick *debris* scan before you let him go. It'll try to take on anything it finds, and I promise you do not want to deal with that. This is another reason that it's really nice that you can take everything underneath apart and easily put it back together, but just scan your house real quick before he runs and save yourself that experience. Overall I am very, very pleased and now really spoiled by having perfectly clean floors all the time!
