Had high hopes for this vacuum based on reviews but didn't do the job for us. We have two dogs, one of which is a Great Pyrenees. I can never empty his without having to stick my hand in the canister to pull the fur free. Okay for light jobs. Not for serious dog owners
After using this vacuum around the house, I was impressed. The following are just a few thoughts about the Hoover Windtunnel Air Bagless Upright Vacuum: - The "multi-cyclonic action" is powerful. Even when the canister is full of dust, debris, or hair, the vacuum continued to clean the floors. I did notice that on shorter weave rugs, the suction slightly lifted the rug off the floor on the back pull. At the same time, my rugs have never been cleaner. - The adjustable (telescopic) handle is a feature I've not seen before and now that I've used it, it makes me wonder why it wasn't around before. You can adjust the handle to be longer or shorter, making it much easier for taller (or shorter) people to use. It's also a nice perk for storage as well. - I thought the vacuum really shined when cleaning hardwood floors. We have two puppies and if you're a pet owner, you know that means little hair wads can collect around baseboards and in corners. With some vacuums, the "blow back" is so powerful, it seems to blow the hair away as you're trying to vacuum. With the Hoover, it actually sucks all of the hairs up. The convenient brush on/off switch allows you to turn off the brush when you're cleaning hardwood, vinyl, or other flat floors. - This vacuum is light. I'm not super buff and I don't lift weights, but I was able to lift this vacuum with one hand. This makes carrying the vacuum and vacuuming stairs much easier. - WIth some canister vacuums, the dirt gets clogged in the canister and you end up needing to reach into the debris to remove it. I'm not sure if it's because the filter is wider and doesn't allow hair to get clogged around it, but I found that I was able to easily empty the canister with just a few shakes. - Easy assembly. I had to attach the handle to the vacuum and insert the attachment in it's proper place and I was done. Two steps. It doesn't get much easier than that. - Filters can be expensive. Fortunately, the HEPA air filter for the Hoover Windtunnel Air Bagless Upright is both removable, washable and is lifetime, which means you don't need to spend extra money to help keep the air clean when you vacuum. - The power cord is long - 30 feet long which makes a big difference when you're trying to vacuum multiple rooms. The extra length allows you to vacuum more floor without having to switch plugs. - I've had vacuums where every time I tried to use the hose and attachment to vacuum something, the whole vacuum would tip over. The Hoover is unique in that you can attach the hose to the HANDLE of your vacuum. Not only that, but you can daisy-chain the hose with the extension hose so you get several extra feet when you are using the brush attachment. - I know this may be just aesthetic, but the fact that everything was clear just was very cool. You can see everything that is being cleaned, see it in the hose, and watch it appear in the canister. Overall, I thought this vacuum is a great value. It reminds me very much of more expensive cyclonic vacuums, but at half the price.
