  • Nice Desk, poor drawer construction
    Verified Purchase

The wood for this desk is nicer in person; it doesn't have a tacky sheen instead it has a matte finish. The depth is nice for my 27 inch iMac, but the width is a bit smaller than expected, though the measurements in the description are accurate. It would be nicer if the desk was a bit wider so there's more leg room between the shelves. It only took me about an hour to assemble. Some of the hardware provided didn't fit. I had to use my own screws for the drawer assembly, because the ones provided were too short to secure the drawer panels. I agree with other reviewers – the measurements were off when creating specs for this desk because the drawer sometimes comes off the rails when pulling it out. Overall very happy with the desk with the exception of the drawer rail issue.

  • Nice desk but....
    Verified Purchase

I looked at this desk for weeks before buying it. I read the reviews and decided to buy it since I couldn't find anything else like it without building it myself. But be forewarned. This desk did come with flaws. One of the corners was smashed in delivery I'm guessing. Since it was going in a corner it would not be seen. The other issues were lack of care when the desk was made. Very poor stain job. Mostly on the legs, and a little bit on the top of the desk. Glue from putting on the veneer had gotten on top on the desk so the stain could not penetrate the wood which now there is a spot right at the front of the desk and no way to hide it. A piece of veneer had peeled back in packaging, and was bent. It didn't brake off and I glued it back. The last problem was the drawer. I checked that first since others stated having problems. It seemed find until the desk was built and I went to move it into my office. The drawer would not stay on the tracks and would fall to the floor. It was too small. This was fixed by taking screws out of the track on the drawer and putting in shims to force the tracks together. I love the look of the desk but it is not a quality piece. Overstock.com was great in helping me work through these issues.

  • Happy as can be!
    Verified Purchase

I was concerned after reading the other reviews that the quality might be lacking, but I am happy with the desk. The legs seems to be some kind of a pine instead of oak, but I think it still looks fine. The finish is a non-poly type finish that requires waxing, but I don't mind since I have other furniture of this same type. Overall, it serves my purposes well.

It was a good purchase for the price. Serviceable but not a great piece of furniture.

  • Good desk, but drawer does not fit.
    Verified Purchase

The drawer does not fit in the desk. I like the style, color and height of the desk, but will have to have something built to fit where the drawer is supposed to. The drawer that I was sent is easily 1" too small for the metal tracks on the desk.

  • Great Desk
    Verified Purchase

It took me a week or so going back and forth trying to decide which desk I wanted. When it came it was fairly easy to assemble, but didn't flip the desk top over until it was all together and noticed some scratches on it. That's why I downgraded to four stars. Also, the drawer in the middle gets a little off track from time to time. Overall I'm happy with the desk and I hardly notice the scratch, because it's covered up by something half of the time. Color is true to picture and feels like a sturdy desk.
