The scoring system for this review of this Two Light Flush Mount (model F7177-10, aka Sunset Lighting flush mount two light ceiling fixture) 14 inch doesn't allow a low enough score. I'm relatively handy -- I've installed a number of light fixtures, including another flush mount ceiling light very similar to this one but from another manufacturer. This unit (aka Sunset Lighting flush mount two light ceiling fixture (model # F7177-10) 14 inch ) is badly designed and impossible to install. I tried for 90 minutes before I gave up. The directions state to first attach the cross bar to the junction box. Then secure the threaded rod *** to the offset cross bar with a nut and washer above and a locking nut below the bar. Fine so far. But when i attempted to attach the unit's base plate, I discovered the base plate has a threaded nut through its center. So one option was to hold the threaded rod so it wouldn't turn, and then to physically spin the unit clock-wise onto the threaded bar -- which I could only do up to a certain point, when I had to connect the wiring. Then I had to rotate the threaded rod counter-clockwise. The other option is to begin by screwing the threaded bar counter-clockwise into the baseplate. Of course when I turned the threaded rod counter-clockwise, the nuts holding the threaded rod to the offset cross bar are loosened until the nuts come off. It's impossible to keep the nuts on the threaded rod and to screw the threaded rod into the base plate at the same time. So my review of the Two Light Flush Mount (aka Sunset Lighting flush mount two light ceiling fixture) (model #F7177-10) 14 inch light is don't waste your time. You'll just end up hating whatever nincompoop engineer designed this, the product manager who approved it, and the sales staff who sold it without ever actually trying to install the thing. The junction box cross bar should have been designed with a simple threaded hole in it because it's very difficult to secure the threaded rod to the bar with a nut and locking nut. This would be a simpler, more economical, and easier to use design. It's also completely unnecessary to have a threaded nut through the center of the base plate. The cross bar has attachment screws that are designed to hold the baseplate in place. When you put the light ("Faux Alabaster") glass lens on, you also screw a cap and a knob onto the threaded rod which ought to be entirely sufficient to hold the glass lens in place and to help hold the baseplate snugly against the ceiling. To summarize my review of the Two Light Flush Mount (aka Sunset Lighting Flush Mount ceiling fixture) (model #F7177-10) 14 inch light, it's badly designed and a pain to try to install. Don't buy it.
