Love these curtains. I saw these about 2 months ago, but they did not have the length I wanted in stock. I looked every where and could not find anything similar, then they came back in stock, so I ordered them for my formal dining room, formal living room and study. I ordered the Autumn for the dining room & living room the colors are not as deep as on my computer screen, but they are pretty. The autumn has a khaki/caramel background, burgundy stripe, I would say a light sage stripe with a medium blue border. So the colors in the autumn are burgundy, sage, blue, khaki. I am going to put the Mocha in the study, but I just ordered them. These curtains are very nice and you can not beat the price. They will easily fit a 2-2.5 inch decorative rod. I am going to put sheers under mine. I would not say they are a 100% black out curtain, but they work nicely and the material is soft to the touch. They drape well and should work great at protecting my wood floors and antique furniture from the sun. The back of the curtains have a white lining. I tried to add a few disciptions others had left out.

  • Super Thernal and Blackout Curtains
    Verified Purchase

I've been shopping at Overstock.com since 2002 and have never been disappointed with the quality of the merchandise I've received. These panels are no exceptions. In fact, this is one of the best purchases. The Tuscany design and fabric is super. Just the right weight making the panel hang perfectly. They not only help keep the drafts out they are truly blackout panels. I ordered the sage color to compliment my sofa which has the tuscany design also. The sage color in the panel is slightly lighter than that of my sofa but after hanging the panels it isn't even noticeable. I could not be happier with this purchase. I am glad I ordered two pair to get the desired fullness. Great buy! Panels are exactly as described. Thank you overstock.

  • Beware of TOXIC SMELL from thermal lining
    Verified Purchase

BEWARE of the thermal backed curtains from Overstock. I bought 3 pairs of curtains (1 of each of the 3 available colors). The specific product name is "Thermal Backed Tuscan Blackout Curtain Panel Pair". These emit a TOXIC smell, especially when the sun hits them. Quite disappointing, because these absolutely look beautiful. They gave off a smell coming out of the package. Washing them will make the smell go away temporarily. Unfortunately, once you hang them, as the sun hits the thermal lining during the warmer months, the smell will make you GAG. I bought these curtains last Winter, so it's been cold and the smell was somewhat bearable. Now that Spring is here, it was quite warm today and now all of my bedrooms smell like something a little worse than burnt rubber. I am going to contact Overstock and see if I can return them. Otherwise, over *** worth of curtains are trash.

  • Quality Jaquard Drape
    Verified Purchase

My drapes arrived today and they are beautiful. They have a 2" header and a 3" rod pocket for shirring onto a flat rod, but I want to be able to open and close them easily to block the light when my son, who works shift work, needs to sleep during the day. I bought these because of the light-blocking thermal lining, and also the color, knowing that instead of the flat rod, I could use drapery clips that have a ring that slides along a decorative rod. With enough clips, this will look fine, though naturally more of a formal look than I want. I'm toying with the idea of using a Battenburg Lace top valance and matching tiebacks for the drapes to give my room a homier atmosphere to match the Romantic Westlake bed quilt and shams I've already purchased from Overstock. Too, I've purchased already from Overstock a Modern Living Red Floral Rug (2'3 x 8' runner) and the matching Dense Weave Red Rug (5'6 Round). The gold stripe in the drapery fabric is quite a pale gold in comparison to the deep red burgandy stripe alongside and the narrower green stripe is a medium olive color. It's difficult to determine colors online and there is quite a difference between the slightly faded tones of the quilt I selected, the deep vivid burgandy and gold colors in the rugs, and the colors in the drapes, but the room is large enough that the materials won't be placed on top of each other. I'm not concerned about the look once everything is brought together with the right color wall paint. In my experience, slight color differences between items in a room is more interesting than everything exactly matching. Overall, I believe I'm going to be pleased with the result and the bottomline cost thanks to Overstock.com.

  • NOT Black Out Curtains
    Verified Purchase

The listed description claims the curtains are “blackout”. Anyone would take that to mean that it will keep daylight from invading the room which is the desired effect if you don’t want your sleep disturbed by any light. They are definitely NOT blackout curtains. You can see light through the drapes and lining just holding it up to the window. I know that the light would definitely disturb my sleep since it is only diffused light. The package states “Lowers Energy Costs, Blocks Out Sunlight”. That is a desirable feature but not for those who wish to keep the room blackout dark. The fabric is very attractive and the package states that the curtains are “Thermal Backed with Thermatec Lining”. I will take their word for it. That certainly is good to have with a cold winter expected in the Northeast where I live. Especially since our window installation leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to keeping warm in winter. I haven’t hung the curtains yet since I haven’t found a curtain rod that I like at a reasonable price. It would have been nice if the package mentioned what the maximum circumference of the pole should be to fit through the hole in the curtains. My husband took some cardboard and rolled it to fit into the curtain hole so he could measure how big the hole is. We determined the rod could not be larger than 1½ inches. I’m sure that I will like the way the curtains look when they are hung and since we have a shade that we can roll down behind the curtains we can still keep the room as dark as we need but you should know that you have to make a decision whether these curtains fill your needs. They are definitely a great price for what you get.

The curtains are beautiful, but they have a chemical type odor that I can't get rid of. I tried washing them but the smell is ingrained in the thermal lining. I am really disappointed with them and will have to get rid of them because I can't have that odor in the room. The odor really shows up when the sun heats up the curtains. They are also not 63 inches long, but 61 inches long, found that out when I hung them on a double rod over a set of 63 in sheers, and the sheers were longer. Took the curtains down and measured them and found them to be shorter than they are supposed to be. They also do not block out 99% of light, it is more like 60%.

  • Tuscan Thermal Backed Curtains are a good buy
    Verified Purchase

I was surprised at how nice the curtains are. I had also bought a pair of thermal backed/black out curtains at xxxxx because they were so inexpensive. But they are very stiff. The fabric of these Tuscan curtain is softer so they drape more easily. They are very pretty and I've put one pair in my guest room and am using another pair in the master bedroom. They do keep out the drafts at night and the room is warmer. But - they are definitely NOT black out curtains if that's what you're looking for. Personally, I like the way they filter out the light enough for sleeping and allowing some light to come into the room, showing off the curtain's design.

  • curtain panels in Autumn color
    Verified Purchase

these are very nice curtain panels! the Autumn color is exactly how it is shown in the picture. It is mostly a tan color with a sagey green and dark burgandy stripes through it. the stripes are probably about an inch thick. I bought 1 set of the 84" for a bay window in my family room and they work great. My window is about 100" wide. One set works fine. When I close the curtains they aren't full and ruffled still, but they look nice. If I were to add more panels it would be TOO much when they are opened and it would take ALOT of space away from my beautiful bay window. I wasn't sure how high to hang them ( I didn't want them dragging on the ground-too hard to vaccuum around) . Our first attempt at hanging them with a curtain rod we purchased at home depot wasn't right. We had them about 4-5 inches off the ground and it just looked stupid. So I convinced my husband and father-in- law to lower the rod as much as they could above our window and the curtains look MUCH better. they aren't laying on the carpet, they lay just above our base board which looks nice cause you can see the wood but not the walls.

  • Tuscan Thermal Backed Blackout Curtain Panel Pair
    Verified Purchase

I ordered 2 pair of these drapes with the matching valences in mocha, for a double living room window. They turned out gorgeous! The curtains are lined and do block light, but I have them tied back as I like the tie back look with the sheers behind them. My living room is a med. beige, with light beige carped and my living room suit is a golden beige hue. These match perfectly. I am lucky though, my mother in law is great at sewing, she took two of the panels and sewed them together to make one large panel, so out of the two sets, I actually had two large panels made. She matched the patterns when she sewed them together and cut out a stripe on each panel which was necessary to match the patterns. She then took the pieces the cut out and made two tie backs. They look great and very expensive compared to what I paid for them. The only reason I am not giving them a 5 is because matching tie backs were not available, and the valances are not lined, which is actually not these drapes fault, but I pressed the valances out and they are actually fine. I have searched for lined drapes for years to replace some I loved but were just simply worn out. I think I did well by purchasing these drapes, I love them and they add some needed color and pattern to my living room with plain beige walls. My mother in law liked them so much as well I think she is going to have me order her the set in the sage color. Very happy with this purchase.

  • Not blackout curtains
    Verified Purchase

We are very pleased with the drapes. They look great and have a thick hand and drape beautifully. They look formal and much more expensive than the price would suggest. We have the sage and the colors are true to the web site and they pick up sage color in our bedding. They are billed as blocking light 99% and we got them because we wanted to darken the room. This is not even close. The backing is a plastic coating of white that is painted on and doesn't come close to blocking 99% of the light. When the sun hits the backs of the drapes it fully illuminates the pattern and the room is darker than without but not dark. We have them installed over mini blinds, but the light is still only blocked by about 50% or so. I had to buy additional blackout panels which I hung behind these to get actual blackout curtains. Others have complained of a chemical smell and I am very sensitive to smells, but this has not been a problem at all. We washed the first set because of this warning but didn't bother with the other two and don't have an odor problem. Although it is disappointing that the blackout feature doesn't work, they are beautiful drapes for the price; if you want real black out curtains you need to add blackout panels behind these or choose something different.

  • Good for me! Should be good for you too!
    Verified Purchase

Excellent fabric weight, weave, and (sewing) workmanship. I'm not really sure what blackout curtains are, but THESE curtains are GREAT for me/can see a (very) little sunlight through them. Have not experienced a bad odor as others have said-- AT ALL. They were easy to iron and look fabulous! I haven't washed them yet, but due to others complaining about the liner, I will NOT put them in the dryer when the time comes. My computer monitor presented these as off white/light sage. They are actually medium beige, and medium sage. Luckily, this still works for me and I'm keeping them. As a note, if the color is critical, to you, you shouldn't order -anything- on line unless you're willing to return them (It's not their fault computer monitors vary the color). I recommend these !

Overall the curtains are well made and a good value. The color of the strip was not wine as described, but brown so it would not go with our other colors. Some of the stitching was a little off. Just be sure that the colors are what you want. Also they are not available currently in 84" long as stated in the description. Also remember that the rod pockets shorten the hang factor by around 2 inches.Really liked the curtains being machine washable. It is difficult to find nice curtains with the attractive striped pattern of the panels like these.

  • Nice Tuscan Curtain
    Verified Purchase

Beautiful pattern, very nice curtains for the money. No skips in pattern. Pattern very straight. Sometimes an excess of 1/4 to 1 inch variance on side seams, which made the curtain panels slightly bigger. If you have to hang 3 or more panels, the pattern repeat is just right. Just wrap a little of the end and it looks like one large panel. The pattern repeat on the sides is just right. The fabric absorbs a lot a heat. Which is great during 92 - 103 F in the shade summers. I love these curtains. They add a lot of statement to a room. Easy to match with decore and colors.I washed the curtains first before putting them up. Be very gentle in care. Less is certainly more. I washed on delicate cycle without detergent. Surprisingly, the sizing factory finish is very water soluble and came right off. Use gentle spin only before line drying outside. If you iron, press with the grain of fabric. Do not go higher that heat setting 2 for nylon. I think with the next pair I order, I will try pressing only with a cheap muslin fabric over the panels to see if the finish will stay. Con: One panel on the fabric was picked in some. Fabric needs a tad more weight and tighter weave. Could use curtain weights. (These are cheap at a fabric store).

  • Curtain Panel pair
    Verified Purchase

Been searching for striped curtain panels with the "autumn" colors for about a month and I was very happy to find these online. Here on Maui, one is very limited when it comes to purchasing good quality curtains/drapes unless you have them custom made or order online. After receiving my Tuscan Blackout Curtain Panels I immediately checked out the quality of the material and was VERY pleased. The colors in these panels that I viewed online were identical with the curtain panels I received. They drape very nicely and fit the bay window and another side window perfectly without the need for alterations. They are exactly what I was looking for!

  • Great Drapes
    Verified Purchase

I have been looking for draperies for a dining room sliding glass door for some time now. These are just perfect. I purchased the mocha color and love the colors and the background, woven brocade design. Some of the reviewers recommended throwing the drapes in the dryer to get the wrinkles out, I wouldn't. The cleaning directions are to dry clean only. The heat from the dryer may be why there are complaints of a strange odor. I just hung the drapes and steamed them with my iron an inch or so away. The wrinkles came out easily. I keep the drapes pulled back most of the time and close them at night. I actually am only using 2 panels for a 6 foot slider and it looks great when they are pulled back and when they are covering the window. I think 4 panels (the recommended number for this size window) would be too much.

  • What a Great Deal!
    Verified Purchase

These panels are wonderful...just what I was looking for! We have an enormous picture window in our living room and by the afternoon, the sun is so brutal we can barely stand to sit in the room. We have blinds...but they do nothing to block the sun. These panels, although not 100% blackout, do the trick! The quality is top-notch! They seem very durable and the pattern is just right (very subtle...but far from plain).Because they are thermal panels, they have the not-so-attractive white backing. To solve the "blah" factor, I put up gold sheers behind the panels...voila! My living room is like a whole new world! I would definitely recommend these panels to a friend...and I've ordered two more for my office!! =^..^=

  • Tuscan Panels
    Verified Purchase

Panel color (green) was just as it looked on line. Material was heavy and hangs very nicely. Buyer should note that the back thermal part of the panel is white. I am a little disappointed in the quality. I washed panels before hanging and washed them exactly per instructions. I washed one panel at a time in cold water on the gentle cycle and did NOT put them in the dryer. The thermal backing on two of the four panels is starting to peel off. I would have rated the product excellent except for this quality issue.

  • Decent panels
    Verified Purchase

These are not curtains that will block out all light (they block out a fair bit but not as much as the blackout honeycomb style blinds we have in another room in the house), so if you're looking for a 'blackout' panel you might want to look for something else, or hang some blinds or such behind them. For "ready to hang" thermal curtains they are reasonably nice quality. The sage color is a bit darker in tone than it was on my monitor. This was actually a good thing for me as it matched the room better than the lighter tone would have. I'm not sure if the panels are all perfectly straight as they went direct from package to window and the bottom edges ended up behind furniture. By the time I thought about checking for runs or other flaws I think my cat had already tested them for "claw density". There are only a couple of small snags which I didn't notice until I went looking for them. Overall I am pleased, as these look nice enough and now I don't have to sew my own custom drapes. I won't really know how well they do for thermal properties until spring when I can compare the winter heating bills.

  • Beautiful and functional
    Verified Purchase

I just bought these curtains for my bedroom in an attempt to keep our freezing cold apartment warmer this winter. I can already tell a difference, and I actually just bought the red long ones for our living room as well! First off, they look just gorgeous. The stripes are beautiful, and are a light blue/sage color. The beige background has subtle designs and they look really classy. They are very heavy and seem to be very effective in blocking heat and light (though not 100% blackout). I wish they were beige on the back, though, but they are white, which looks a little strange from the outside. But these curtains are completely functional and will save me $$ this winter! Oh one thing to note.. because they are so heavy, they come really wrinkled. I just got a fabric steamer and used it a little and they are good as new. I'd definitely recommend these curtains.
