  • Great set, great price
    Verified Purchase

A good simple knife set. Great weight and quality. Smooth, solid and sharp. I chose it because I didn't need a large set with steak knives. I'm very happy with my purchase.

These knives are really high quality steel. Handles are attractive and easy to hold. Could shave with any of them, The shears make quick dis-assembly of whole chickens.

  • Money Well Spent
    Verified Purchase

When I think about the money I could have spent elsewhere for another cutlery set, I can only smile. Aside from being great-looking in the block, each piece is very well-designed and very sturdy. And if you examined nothing else, the heft and integrity of the shears — along with the safety latch on the handle — would persuade you this is a very nice set. Highly recommended.

  • Definitely worth the money

I just needed a set of knives while I was in the US and figured I would likely end up leaving them behind at some point so I didn't want to spend a lot of money. My expectations were reasonable and I just wanted something that would get the job done, preferably without a half dozen steak knives that I would never use. I was impressed with the heft and balance the knives have, they fit very nicely in the hand and are good for a variety of food prep. The handles actually looked cheaper on the site and I was happy to discover that whatever material they are made of is very substantial and sturdy. I've had to hone the blades on the ones that get the most use already so I would recommend a decent sharpening stone but bearing in mind that I cook for my girlfriend and myself three times a day these have already seen quite a bit of use. After a couple of passes the blades go back to sharp and stay that way for about a week, equal to lower end sets of more well known knives that are much more expensive. My only complaint is that the shears are not well made and they stick together when I try to use them, requiring me to yank them apart every time. Although I will say they are a proper set of shears and not the weak scissors you normally see in sets like these, they are designed for tendon and bone not clipping coupons.
