Though never out of reach, sometimes one must strive for love. This wonderful sculpture is the work of Abdul Razak in Ghana. A man and woman reach for a big red heart; the man helps to lift the woman up so that she can reach the object of her desire. The sculpture is hand-carved of native sese wood.

Story behind the art:

5 years ago ,I joined Novica,ooh! precious Novica. Variety is one thing Novica has helped us to achieve,in our works. Novica provides us with inspiration as to designing our works and it has changed our line of work. Novica has helped me acquire funds to cater for my children.It has also brought me a lot of successes,I have been able to build my own house where I live with my family.Funds that I receive from Novica also helps in taking care of feeding and fess of my children. I have 5 trained artists,two are family and the others are students from the Tertiary institution,who come in during vacation to learn. I have expanded in scale largely ,I started selling carved pieces in Aburi and I am still in Aburi but in a well furnished Shop. My happiest moments was when I received a loan,which helped me to produce my replenishment. My goal is to work harder for my business to progress,in Novica. Thank you! Novica
