My den is brown. Yep, boring brown. The furniture is brown, the floor is brown and the walls are tan. I blame it on my husband being 23 years in the Army and I guess brown is about as far as he could manage from all white or all Army green. I've tried to bring color into the room with accessories but it still looks drab. So, here I find this rug. and now I've got this big splash of color. There are so many colors I think I could use this rug in just about any room of the house. I couldn't tell from the pictures how the rug was made but seeing it - I'll tell you. The rug is like a rag rug that is braided and then each row is sewn into place. It is thick - I'd say 3/4 inch thick. The quality and workmanship look excellent with uniform stitches and even width of rows. I would not use this rug in a formally decorated room but in a casual room - a den, kitchen or hallway this would be a riot of color that could be perfect.
The Curated Nomad Grove Handmade Braided Cotton Rug - 5' x 8' is my favorite rug. It is just right size area rug in a bedroom, living room, or porch. It is not too thick and very well made. I get a lot of comments on this rug. I do recommend it to all my friends .
Love, love, LOVE it! Beautiful colors and suits the intended space perfectly. So vibrant and tightly braided for durability. The colors are true to the photographs although I can see with the uniqueness of each piece, it could differ slightly, so keep that in mind. I have also vaccumed the carpet without any issues with fraying or pulling. I would recommend an rug pad for the floor to keep it from slipping if you don't have furniture holding it down.
Bought this Curated Nomad Grove Handmade Braided Rug for my daughter and she loves it. Looks beautiful in her living room.
Beautiful colors. Very well made my 3 dogs and two cats seem to like it. My husband even likes it. I was a little iffy with the colors until we unrolled it and it is really very pretty. Very pleased.
If you want a big bold splash of color this is the rug for you. It is very bright, red is most predominant color, splashes of teal, white, orange, yellow, greens, browns. I bought it for my bedroom that has white furniture so this rug adds lots of color. I don't have a problem with the rug being bumpy. The rug came wrapped in plastic and rolled. The rug lays flat with no problem. Not too thick or thin, just right. My rug lays over carpet so I didn't need extra cushioning. At first glance I thought it would be too bright but in a couple of hours I got more accustomed to the colors and I love it. Bottom line, it's a rag rug, a well made rag rug, don't expect perfection, rag rugs aren't perfect. Also, in my opinion, if you buy more than one of these rugs and expect them to match, I doubt if the rugs would be an exact match. Why? Because it's a rag rug. Would go well with country or coastal or even modern decor. UPDATE: This was mentioned in a review I had read before my purchase. I have this rug on top of my carpeting in my bedroom. This rug did stain the carpet underneath it. Not real bad but it is stained, now I have to see if it will shampoo out. I don't know if it had anything to do with the damp feeling when the rug arrived, it was strange but seemed a little damp, I paid it no mind. Will update on the stain removal
I ordered this area rug for my wife four weeks ago. And I have to say it is the brightest, prettiest area rug I have seen in a long time. I wondered if it would be to flashy for our living room, but after seeing it, it isn't...Our living room is pretty much brown, or of a brown shade. And this braided rug makes the room explode with color. My wife loves the colors and the quality is far better than I expected. The weave is tight and the thickness is good too, about 5/8 to 3/4 of an inch. We put it on our already carpeted floor and have a coffee table setting on it. We don't walk on it, but not due to anything wrong with the rug. I read in one of the other customer reviews that these braided rugs slide on carpet so before we walk on it we will be getting some non-slip rug pads to put under it. Also: in another review, I read that this particular braided rug stained the carpet under it, so hopefully it won't stain ours. The lady also said her rug seemed a little damp when she unrolled it...Ours seemed to be dry but we are not taking any chances and we will be ordering a non-slip pad and that should alieveate that problem...My overall review is this...I would definately recommend this rug to anyone that is intetested in buying one...Thank you overstock.com...GREAT PRODUCT...!!
The Curated Nomad Groove Handmade Braided cotton area rug is perfect for my kitchen. We believe that it will wear well and look beautiful. Very satisfied with our purchase!
This rug is handmade and is absolutely beautiful.
Vibrant colors which are accurately represented by the photo. I’m using the 5X7 rug in a play room, so the color and style create a comfortable and happy environment.
I read the reviews for this rug before purchasing. My experience has been all positive. It is a heavier (thick) rug but I was able to carry it up and down stairs by myself. I tried it on the concrete floor in my basement and then ended up putting it in a room with hardwood floors instead. It is in front of a closet with hinged folding doors and the closet doors are not a problem with the rug at the bottom. Both times I put it down it did have a couple of humps here and there but I just walked around on it for a couple minutes and stepped them all down. Soon the rug was lying completely flat with hardly any effort. This is not a cheap looking rug; it is very substantial and nice to walk on. The colors are very bright and vibrant. Mine looks just like the picture above. I am so happy I went ahead and ordered this rug!
Beautiful rugs. They are handmade so the edges are not perfectly square or round. They do fade so I recommend the non-slip rug pads...
Was looking for an all natural wool or cotton rug without all those bad chemicals in other rugs - and this fit the bill. Great all cotton rug made in India. Its very vibrant, colors just as pictured - a rainbow of colors, hand braided and stitched together. I have only had it a week or so, but I am pleased with the purchase. This rug was quite heavy, and I do not even need a rug pad as it stays in place on my floor by itself. Love this purchase.
First of all, I purchased this item to complete a furnished rental, which was needed to be complete by a certain date. I reside about a 3-hour round trip away, so I expected it when promised, but the shipment was delayed because FedEx could not read the shipping label which was attached, so that held up this item, which caused me a great deal of trouble, as I had to then rush out to purchase a different rug locally, so more time & money...when I called the number on FedEx site if the shipper, I was told that they were only the vendor and not responsible for the ilegable shipping tag, so I contacted Overstock, who gave a partial credit, and also offered to take item back if I chose to return it...I explained that I also got a pouf to match, so if I did return then both items would need to go. I am still considering returning because I had a neighbor get the rug for me and send me a text photo, and it does not look the same as on the website, as the braided areas are much thicker than expected...see photo below...so I am still thinking about returning it. I will have to spend 3-hours of my time to see the rug to decide, then go through that hassle so for now just had my neighbor store it in my locked garage. I gave 3-stars because the price is good, nothing wrong with rug, yet actual braiding is much thicker so colors are less varied and it does not have the effect I was expecting, yet I have not opened up the packaging or actually placed the rug as I have a different rug in place now. I may keep this for future use once I see it in-person.
We love our new Curated Nomad Grove Braided Multicolored Rug. It replaces neutral beige carpet which I thought was the only choice there was to put with our dark berry sectional. I was so wrong! There is just enough of the berry color in this rug to pull it off! This sunroom has always been our favorite room because it is so bright. Now it is our favorite because it is so full of rich color, colors you not only see but can almost feel. This room acts as a playroom when grandkids and other visiting kids come over. The rug is soft and textured under bare feet. The construction of the rug is rustic, yet perfect in this casual room. This is the beginning of the redecorating of this room. I look forward to adding accessories to finish it. With all the colors in the rug to pull from, the possibilities are endless.
I ordered this way in advance for a move to our new apartment. I was itching to open it buy knew that it would be easier to move still rolled up. I like the rug ok. I bought it when it wasn't on sale and it was a significant purchase for me. It's not as well made as expected. There are lots of loose strings and the ends of some of the rags are loose and stick up. Some of the braids are not uniform in size. It's not a refined high end rug. The colors are more like primary colors than the water colors shown in the photos. There are many, many colors in this rug. Everything from black to pink. It's a very heavy rug and if the threading holds up I imagine it's more heavy duty than most in this style. But due to the material and its placement in the highest traffic area of our home, I dread having to clean it. Looks like it will get dingy pretty easy as it has some dirty spots after a week of use. And it is so large and heavy that it would never fit in, nor hold up to, a washing machine. It would have to be dry cleaning and transporting it will be a hassle. I'm here looking for a new rug.
The Curated Nomad Grove Handmade Braided Cotton Rug is absolutely beautiful with all its braided colors. It fits perfectly with my decor and is as lovely as I thought it would be. My only concern was that it was moist when I unwrapped it from its packaging and has a slight smell of mildew. I’m hoping it is from the inclement weather in the western states and after being laid out, will eventually dry out and the odor will go away.
Wow!! Where do I start with this fabulous rug! It's huge! The fabric is thick, durable and natural to the touch - almost like a super thick rag rug and the colors are beautiful as well as vibrant and true to the picture. It unrolled nicely however with it being a large round rug expect to have a few tighter, more snug areas towards the center rings which produce small, almost puckered waves/humps in areas where furniture is placed on it. For the first few weeks I vacuumed and stretched or trained those areas every other day until it settled in to my liking. The funniest part about this rug is that I purchased it as a surprise for my daughter's Bohemian style room and decided I needed to "let it breath, loosen up" a little before placing it in there however I fell completely in love with it in its temporary place, it just adds to our eclectic style in our eating area. Who would've thought! My daughter is now waiting for us to go out of town so she can snag it up haha until then we are enjoying it. Great quality and size for the price. This rug will be in our family for years!
Beautiful cotton braided run with lots of vibrant colors. I put this in my kitchen, which has hardwood floors and it gives the room a warm, fun look. The rug is not completely straight on the sides, but not so much as to be obvious and I attribute it to the fact that it is handmade. Nice!
