This bed is surprisingly well built and comes with heavy gauge hardware for assembly. The wood is MDF, painted white and grey. It is strong enough to hold any toddler. I would definitely pay attention to the height of the twin mattress you use though. The company recommends a 9” mattress. Anything more then that and you get real close to putting your little one in harms way. Assembly took some time, which is to be expected with an item like this. Instructions could be a little more detailed.

The Twin Low Loft bed by Donco Kids is the perfect bed for those bedrooms that can use a little more space. Crafted from 100% Pine wood with steel reinforcements it includes slat kits that alleviate the need for a box spring, it's a great bed for resting but also for play as we design our beds with your children's safety in mind. Add some modern flavor to their bedroom with our White Wash and Dark Grey colored finish (non toxic) they blend well against a light colored surface. This bed's unique design not only creates more space for your child, but will also add fond memories of playtime and sleepovers. All of our beds are CPSIA or CPSC compliant and also ASTM compliant.
Please note: We recommend the use of a mattress that is 9 inches or less.

I purchased this bed as my son’s first “big boy” bed. His room is somewhat small so we wanted something that would be multi-functional. This bed is perfect! It has a small built in dresser and a decent size play area underneath. My son loves it and is excited to sleep in it in a few months when he gets kicked out of his crib for his new sibling! Also, was relatively easy to put together. I was originally planning on hiring someone to build it for me. I decided to take a shot at it myself to save some money. It took me approximately 4 hours including unpacking the boxes and organizing the parts. I am 6 months pregnant and the only “help” I had was my 2 year old son.

Now that we have the bed assembled...we love it! Our toddler loves it. We did receive it with a broken piece...after waiting a full week for it to arrive...we had to wait another 7 days for the replacement piece to arrive for hubby to put the bed together. It is labor intensive...but hubby put it all together by himself. It isn’t up really high...which I love. The ladder is easy for my 3 year old to climb up and down by himself. Both my toddlers love the play area under the bed.

We ordered this bed for our (almost) 4 year old daughter. It took a little time to put together but all the pieces were there and the instructions were very clear. Our little girls absolutely LOVES it!!! It is the perfect height for smaller children and the little play area is perfect for her to play with her American Girl dolls she loves so much. We can’t wait to build forts and finish her new big girl room. This bed will definitely be the focal point. Great bed for a great price. We have a happy little girl and that makes us very happy!
