I've had my storage shed for a couple years and have mixed feelings. The assembly was not that difficult, but it does take a while. That being said, you should expect building a shed to take a good chunk of time. I like that it came standard with windows and ceiling panels (I had a previous Rubbermaid shed that did not). Shortly after assembling the shed, I was trying to adjust the door handle and it broke. I called Lifetime a couple months later and asked what it would cost to get a replacement. To my surprise, the customer service person said they would be happy to send a replacement handle at no charge (even though it was my fault). That was a refreshing experience. My only negative comment, which is actually a sticking point for me, is the door alignment. I've spent hours trying to manipulate the way the shed sits (on a wood floor) so the doors would line up correctly. Nothing seems to work...at least not permanently. I thought I had it once, but the heat of the summer expanded the plastic and it didn't stay. Also, the metal mechanisms that "lock" the door into place at the top does not stay put. If the wind blows and shakes the door, the metal piece drops and the door becomes loose. It doesn't completely open since it is still latched at the handle, but it's always loose. Maybe the newer sheds have a fix for that, but so far my experience has been a bit frustrating.
these look very nice underneath my bed. They arrived on time. I purchased them to store old photographs underneath my bed and they are not particularly suited for this due to their flimsy nature. The bottom is not durable and I would not be able to lift this container with much inside it. I am satisfied with the appearance but I will be keeping my Rubbermaid container in case I ever have to transport these items again.
My husband is a master at putting things together. Thank goodness for the 3 installation videos on YouTube. I think we would have really screwed up if we hadn't watched the videos. Took 2 days to install 2 of these organizers. Please note the the honey color is quite a bit darker than shown in the photos. Definitely better than the other option. I like the lighter color but it is not really an issue for us. We priced the commercial installers and they wanted almost triple what we paid for these two systems. We are pleased with the quality of this John Louis system - from the solid wood used to the heavy metal closet rods.
