I use this little machine nearly everyday. I have been able to remove stains that have not come out with any other cleaner, no matter how much I scrubbed. Sometimes I need to spray a little cleaner to the stains, let it sit for a bit, and then apply the steam. That works 99% of the time. I have only two recommendations for future improvements: (1) A water level indicator would help prevent both overfilling and running on empty. Starting with an empty tank and filling per instructions, it should run approximately 50 minutes. However, I typically only use it for 30 minutes. Without anyway of knowing how much water I used, I need to dump out what is left and start over the next day. Even doing that, I still inadvertantly overfill upon occasion. (2) Design the scraper tool to accommodate a typical household cleaning rag, so it isn't necessary to buy their special made replacement covers. I have improvised by using a rubber band to hold a microfiber cloth onto the tool. It works, but having clips on the tool would be handier. With those two improvements, I would give it 5 stars.
I can’t bend stoop or kneel because of my knees, but this steamer cleans my baseboards and kitchen appliances in seconds.I just wipe them dry! I have used it for a spot on my chair, cleans the walking areas before you need to pull out the big BISSELL carpet cleaner so my floors feel and look clean without the pathways from dirty shoes. Which it can also clean and not have to wait a day or more for them to dry. I waited way to long to try one of theses!
With 4 kiddos still living at home, a dog, and frequent visits from our granddaughters, our floors can get pretty filthy within minutes. I work full-time outside the home, and am not always in the mood to scrub floors as soon as I walk in the door. The Hoover TwinTank Disinfecting Steam Mop is just right for quick and easy floor cleaning. I'm not one that likes to have to put things together either, so I was extremely pleased with the no-fuss assembly. The unit itself is very lightweight, which allows for my children to run the Steam Mop during the day while I'm at work. Great for quick cleanups and for tougher, more intense jobs too. I have a Shark steam mop that hasn't been use in months, because honestly... it doesn't clean very well, and takes quite a while to heat before using. The Hoover TwinTank Disinfecting Steam Mop was ready to use within 30 seconds! I also like that the pads are reusable... we're all about saving those dollars, so being able to toss them in your washer to use again and again is awesome! Wash on a warm setting with a little of your favorite detergent, and then lay flat to dry.. simple as that. The SteamPlus Cleaning Solution has a nice, light scent, and you can adjust the amount of cleaning solution you want to use with the Solution Control dial. Although I don't feel that you need the cleaning solution.. at least not for every use, as the Steam Mop does a great job of cleaning using the steam alone. We live in an apartment with tile flooring, and only have two area rugs. I do like that you can refresh your carpets just as easily as mopping the floor. Dries quickly, and doesn't leave your carpet wet or soak through to the floor underneath like some carpet cleaners. Extremely easy to maneuver into corners and around furniture too. If I was able to change a feature or two though, I would suggest a different way of activating the unit. I have rheumatoid arthritis, so having to squeeze the trigger to activate the steam for the entire time I'm mopping makes my hands tired and achy. I would also like to see a new, larger size water tank in the future. Overall though, it's a great, inexpensive product that does a super job, and leaves your home smelling clean and fresh. And the fact that it kills nearly 100% of common household bacteria is a huge plus! Now I need to find one that will clean my counters, windows, and furniture too. :) "I received a sample of this product to facilitate my review, but my opinions are entirely my own."
I have been using my Hoover Twin Tank Steam Mop for a few weeks now and I love it! I was using a Swiffer mop for a while and after using the Swiffer I would go back and wipe the floor with a light colored cloth and my cloth would end up black; I absolutely hated that my floor wasn't getting clean (especially since I have a crawling baby). After using my new Hoover steam mop for the first time I went back with my light colored cloth to see if the floor was still dirty and it barely left anything on my rag; my floor was clean! I use it on my laminate kitchen floor, and my tile bathrooms and entryway. I also clean a relative's house and she has hand-scraped wood floors. Her floors are extremely hard to keep clean due to the irregular surface and even after I mop them using her mop, they still look dirty after they dry; they only way to get them to look clean is to hand scrub them. However I used the Hoover steam mop on them and they looked clean afterwards. I didn't tell her that I used my steam mop and when she got home she called me wondering why in the world I had scrubbed her floor on my hands and knees. I told her I had used my steam mop and she is now looking to buy her own. The steam mop makes it really easy to remove dried sticky debris. With a regular mop I had to scrub and scrub to get things off my floor, especially under my child's high chair; with the steam mop I just go over the spot a few times and the steam cleans it right up. I like that it comes with three microfiber cloths for the mop; this is enough to get me through a week without having to wash them before laundry day. It is nice that the cloths are machine washable and not throw away like my previous brand. The plastic tray used for cooling the mop is nice so that it doesn't have to sit on the floor while cooling. I also like that the user can decide if they want to clean with the cleaner and steam or simply the steam. I have tried both and I do not see a huge difference between the cleaner/steam or just the steam. I usually just mop with the steam and then once a month use the cleaner just to make sure everything is super clean. I like that the steam disinfects and kills germs (especially important for the bathrooms). This is extremely important to me since I have a baby who crawls on the floor all day. I think the color of the mop is nice. I know someone who owns a white mop (a different brand) and it looks dirty all the time. I also LOVE the 30 foot power cord. It is nice to be able to clean the whole kitchen without having to walk across the wet floor to unplug the mop and plug it in somewhere else. The tanks are easy to fill and empty. The swivel head gets into most areas with ease. However, it is hard to get into corners. I also like that there is an LED light on the mop which tells when the mop is on and when it is ready. This mop also has an on/off button unlike some other mops which only turn off/on by plugging them in or unplugging them. I would recommend this steam mop to others. It cleans well and quick, it heats quickly, and it makes mopping not so much of a chore; I actually don't mind having to mop frequently now. I received a sample of this product to facilitate my review, but my opinions are entirely my own.
