I used my new Hoover Twin Tank Steam Mop today for the first time and I have to say I am impressed. I used it on my kitchen tile. I started in on the area around my garbage can which always seems to be the dirtiest area of the kitchen tile. I pushed the mop over the stuck on dirt and it cleaned most of the area except for the stuck on food that had been hiding under my garbage can. Next I held the mop over the stuck on food and held the button down to allow the steam to loosen the stuck on dirt/food. It worked like a charm! It only took about 5 minutes to clean my entire kitchen tile. What I love about it: Light weight and easy to assemble. It was so easy to assemble out of the box. The handle snaps right into the base with almost no pressure. I tossed the multi-surface pad on the floor ans set the mop on top and pushed down. The hook and loop feature holds the microfiber pad in place. When it's dirty toss it in the washer with a load of towels to clean it. Cleans multiple types of sealed floors. Comes with washable and reusable pads for different surfaces. Works on floors or carpets. I love the fact that the steam will disinfect the floor and kill 99.99% of bacteria. With children in the house we are always battling some cold or illness. Now I'll be able to really get rid of all those nasty germs when flu season rolls around. My only concern before I used the mop was that the small water tank wouldn't last while I was doing my kitchen but it did and hardly used any water at all. I'd recommend this unit for anyone in the market for a light weight steam cleaner with a bang. I can't wait to clean the rest of the tile in the house later today! Disclosure I received a sample of this product to facilitate my review, but my opinions are entirely my own
I am so impressed with floor steamer. Easy to use and assemble. The boiler heats up pretty quick less than 5 and you are off to steaming your floors. The parking pad is a plus so if you need to stop for any reason you can place the boiler on the pad and you won't have water condensation on your floor. I use this for my bathrooms, linoleum floors which cover my kitchen and dinning area, my laminate floor in the living room and my tiled area at the front door. One thing I strongly suggest before you start your steaming process sweep, dry mop your intended areas. That way your cloths won't get so dirty. There are two cloths and a carpet guard included in the pack and additional cloths can be purchased on Overstock. The only con I have about this is the handle it felt a bit flimsy to me but I am very careful with it. The boiler/steam head is fantastic. You have a lever you press at the top of the handle and it releases steam from the port holes in the front of the boiler. I use it at the end of the week to clean. Read your instruction booklet and take very good care of it. It is a wonderful addition to my cleaning routine. No more buckets of water and mops.
I've only given this item a good rating because the bottom screws fall out with each usage and without screws the two floor pieces do not hold together. I used Crazy Glue and finally Gorilla Glue which helps with the problem for awhile. The triangle floor pad works well in getting in those hard to reach spots, tight corners and behind some toilet bowl bases. The handle is not the most sturdy of floor steamers but with a steady slower back and forth motion it works. The steam button when held in does a wonderful clean up job in amazingly fast time leaving absolutely clean streak free grouted tile ceramic floors.
