This bed will require help getting in the door of your house. It ships in two large heavy boxes which UPS did not take very good care of. I would recommend waiting for the UPS driver and inspecting the package before it leaves the truck. Our boxes were torn up badly and the small washers and screws inside are NOT packaged in a plastic bag like you expect- they are loosely packed in a small box inside your package. We actually found all the missing washers and screws in the UPS truck before he left- very nice guy for waiting and helping with that. Luckily, there was no damage to the bed itself though the box was tattered and torn. Un-packaging took about 20 minutes and assembly took about half an hour. The bed goes together very easily. The only quality related issues come from the parts you don't ever see- the platform slats and the support legs. The slats themselves are designed as a "ladder." All slats are preattached to nylon straps forming a ladder chain that essentially makes the dozen or so slats one piece. This was a great idea I had personally never seen before. However, the wood of the slats is left in very very rough condition. The can easily cause splinters if you are not careful. The real issue though is the wear on your mattress. As this is a platform bed there is no need for a boxspring, but if you have a mattress that requires flipping then you are likely to end up sleeping on splinters after your first flip. The support legs themselves are simply plastic pegs (which are adjustable in height) that depress into countersunk holes in a few of the slats. These are perfectly suitable if you NEVER need to move your bed. I your bed moves though it is likely you will be on hands and knees reaching under the bed trying to re-position and reattach the legs. So far ours have done just fine. Overall though we are extremely happy with the bed and are actually pleasantly surprised by how sturdy it is. The bed can take some pretty vigorous "exercise" and doesn't wobble or creak one bit. The padded headboard is nice for this also ;) At the end of the day, this was money well spent. (Beware of Chingrish instruction manual though.)

  • LOVE THIS BED!

I really love the look of this bed and it was way cheaper than any other tufted bed I viewed online. Has a very luxe look to it. The bed is more of a taupe color, slightly darker than the photo. I was able to assemble it on my own without killing myself (I'm a 25/F) so that was a big plus. I have one complaint, which if you are not handy may be an issue for you. The support posts that were included with the bed were crappy plastic ones that slipped out from underneath the bed as soon as I got on (I don't weigh much either!). I have wood floors and no area rug so that's probably the reason. I had to add extra screws to the beams and also screw in some posts we cut from wood underneath the center of the platform. The bed is super sturdy now. Overall, a beautiful bed!

I looked for a bed for a long time and finally decided I'd have to find one in a store because it's so hard to buy something like this sight-unseen, but then I found this bed, I just had to bite the bullet, knowing I'd have to live with whatever showed up on my doorstep because it would be insane to try to send it back. It arrived very quickly (ordered Wednesday, arrived Monday) and UPS left it on my porch as delicately as possible. The boxes were BIG, one marked that it was over 70 pounds and was 2 feet taller than me, but I was able to get them inside by myself. The color was the big question mark after reading the revews, so I got the headboard box open quickly to check it out and was pleased. I would call it beige or tan. It could be a little darker to be taupe to me, but it's definitely not gray or green. If you must know the color and fabric, go to any furniture store and check out their standard light neutral color microfiber couch. That's it. One corner was a little smushed, but everything else looked good and all my pieces were there. I had a handy friend come over to help me build it and it took about an hour and a half from moving the old bed, opening boxes and cleaning up. The instructions were simple and the pieces fit together easily. I probably could have done it myself, but it was nice to have two, especially when linking the side rails and footboard. The slats are the biggest pain and were a little splintered, but luckily no one got a splinter. The headboard is solid, but the design stacks the headboard on blocks stacked on feet and it feels a little unstable, but placed right against the wall, it's fine and the whole bed now feels very stable. I first tried the bed with my box springs and mattress and I liked the height of it and that there was still a good amount of headboard showing, but I couldn't figure out the bedskirt issue and it looked strange because the frame is bigger than the box springs and mattress, leaving about a 1.5" gap on all sides. Perhaps with a king comforter it would be hidden, but my queen looked odd so I went with just the mattress. By the time I got the sheet tucked into the side, the gap was less noticable and with the comforter over top, it covered it completely. I have a pillow top, so the top of the mattress has no problem reaching the bottom of the headboard. The bottom of the footboard and siderails sits about 4" off the ground, so my pup lost his underbed refuge, but now the top of the mattress is only about 22" off the ground, so he can jump onto it. It is a quietly elegant bed and now that all my question marks about it are answered, I'm glad I took the leap of faith and I'm looking forward to decorating around it!

I'm giving this bed 3 stars, but I would probably rate it 2.5 if I could. If I was able to easily return this bed I would. In all honesty, you get what you pay for. Ladies, if you are trying to move the boxes into your home from the doorstep these boxes are heavy. I did not want to drag the boxes across my hardwood floors so I opened the box with the side rails, footboard & metal cross bars. I carried the pieces in individually. The fabric is decent and the item was not damaged in any way. Please note that while the headboard is tufted it does not have buttons. It looks a bit unfinished and the tufting looks of lesser quality IMO. As others have noted, this is a low profile bed. No box spring is used. I have not had a low profile bed before. I'm not liking the height as my queen comforter set seems much too long on the sides for this bed. (Even on the sides) Very ill fitting. (Note it was fine on my previous queen size bed) The cross boards are very lightweight wood with plastic connectors. Easy to put together, but I have a feeling this bed may not hold up with two adults. It took me about 1:45 min to put together after getting pieces unpacked. As I stated earlier, if I could return this bed I would. Not because it is defective, but it is not really the quality I want for a master bedroom. My new bedding was more expensive than this bed and is too big. Going to have my boyfriend reassemble this bed in one of my guest bedrooms & purchase a better quality bed from Pottery Barn or Z Gallerie. This would be nice for a teenage girls room. I would not recommend it for an adults room - especially if two individuals plan to sleep on this bed.

I first would like to start off by staying, I am a very precise and meticulous shopper! I was extremely nervous about purchasing a product I have never physically seen before. However, I heard great things about Overstock and decided to give it a shot! First, my order was delivered in a timely manor within 4 days to be exact! It arrived in two huge boxes, one weighed about 50lbs and the other was around 90lbs. It took approximately 45 minutes to set up the bed, the instructions were simple and straight-forward. My biggest apprehension when purchasing this bed was the material. After setting up the bed it is safe to say, this product is nicely crafted! The frame itself is wrapped in a velvet material that can be gently wiped with a warm wet cloth. There are about 13 bed slats that are used to hold the mattress up. The part of the slat that connects to the side rail attaches to a metal rail! This is MUCH better than the cheap particleboard that most beds use. I was pleasantly surprised that this product came with such a sturdy base (considering the price I paid!) Secondly, with this being a platform bed, there is no need for a box spring. I am using a 10in memory foam mattress and the bed sits at a pleasant height! Overall, I am extremely pleased with my purchase and I would definitely recommend this product! I am looking forward to purchasing from Overstock in the future!!

  • Feels solid, looks beautiful but is not taupe

I bought it as a surprise for my daughter who is away at college, and I think she'll love it. Color: The bed is very pretty, but it is not taupe. Whoever thought so missed that completely. More like a light dove gray/nearly silver color. Shipping and Delivery: To start, the product was delivered on time, a week after I ordered it. All parts were included, with the only exception being the need for a screw driver to secure the slats in place. It came with everything else. Assembly: Easy. I put it together by myself in about an hour. (Female, mom) Size > accurate: Our mattress set has a foundation (not a box spring), so I was glad it fit inside the frame properly. I had a bed previously that had to be returned as it was too small for the foundation (foundations are rigid, so can't be smushed in like a box spring can). Height: If you put it all together with the feet and all, and if you use a mattress set (and not just a mattress), the bed is a little high. Short people might need a boost to get in. However, because it has slats all the way from top to bottom, you might be able to get away with just setting the mattress directly in (no box spring or foundation) if you wanted to - it seems that the slats are sufficient to handle that for the average person. Other: In any case, I also like that the entire bed is wrapped in the padding and fabric. Not only does it look nice, but it also helps when you bump into it in the night. I think she'll love it. I slept in it last night and not a hint of movement. It's solid as a rock.

I was a bit concerned about this purchase adfter reading some of the reviews, but I purchased it anyway on my decorator's recommendation. We hired a decorator that works with the budget challenged and she sources a lot of items from Overstock. I can see where this might not be very sturdy on a bare wood floor. The center suppoet where the rails are attached is only attached to the foot board and not the headboard. Luckily I have wall to wall carpet in the bedroom, so this bed does not budge. I can also see where different people had a different perception of the color; depending upon the light conditions I can see grayish, and sometimes sagey qualities, but I see it as taupe. This bed was one 5th the price as a bed from a major retailer and almost looks the same. It looks stunning ! My decorator paired this with crystal base lamps, and sonata nightstands (also purchased from Overstock) and the room looks as if I spent tons more than I did. A friend of mine saw a bed like this at a very high end retailer and it had crystals in the tufts. If I feel adventurous I might buy some crystals and glue them into the tufts.

I had never purchased a bed online but overall have had good luck with Overstock so I took the leap of faith. This is a Fantastic bed for the price point! Super easy to put together and seems to be well made. I purchased this for one of our guest rooms and was not familiar with platform bed's. I learned a platform bed does not need a box spring but I added a box spring anyway since it seem to have more support and looked larger and more inviting. With that being said if you buy a new mattress & box spring purchase a low profile set over the standard, this will make the bed about 5" lower, makes more sense. Very Happy with this Purchase!

This bed arrives in two large boxes and it is pretty easy to assemble. I was doing it alone, so it probably took me about an hour. When the boxes first arrived, one issue that I had was that portions of the fabric were slightly mildewed. The head board and other velvet parts of the bed come wrapped in plastic, essentially to protect it. However, the bed was delivered while I was not home and the boxes therefore had to sit in the sun which I can only assume caused the velvet to sweat .That was rather displeasing to find, but a minor issue. The main issue that I had is the same as others have already stated. The middle support of the bed frame is poorly and cheaply made. About seven months after purchasing the bed, it collapsed. I am the only person sleeping in the bed, a woman of average height, average weight. I ended up going to Home Depot and purchasing a wood plank that I had cut to the length of the middle legs of the bed that had collapsed and screwing the wood blocks into the places where the feet once stood. It was a hassle, but at least it was a cheap solution (cost me about $10), but it was a definite inconvenience. I would urge anyone looking to buy a platform bed to buy one of greater quality in terms of the bed frame support. Beautiful bed, bad craftsmanship.

I love this bed. For the price, you won't find a better deal at this level of quality. However, I had two (now resolved) issues with it. For one, the order comes in two boxes, but I was shipped duplicates. After lugging it up the stairs and realizing this I contacted overstocked and thankfully they were very accommodating and sent me the correct box immediately. Secondly, the plastic supports that go underneath the center of the wooden slats are useless. They may be enough if the bed will be for one person but since it's my bf and I, they kept slipping out and we thought the bed had broken a few times when he would crawl in. So, my bf ended up throwing them away and buying 9" wooden blocks to nail into the slats and now the bed is perfect.

  • Looks good but has major issue that you have to fi
    Verified Purchase

This is not a true platform bed. The bed has thin flexible wooden slats that support the mattress. When weight is distributed unevenly, such as sitting on the edge of the bed, the slats pop out of their holders. Also, the center beam that supports the wooden slats in the center, has no support at the head of the bed, and tends to move causing the center support legs to break off. The bed as designed would only be suited for one small child, as then as long as they never stood on the bed or jumped on it. I was able to correct this problem using plywood and wooden legs purchased separately. An additional expense and a big inconvenience.

Dear Overstock. I line to feel like I'm a very good gauge. That being said, I take a lot of time accessing a product before buying online. I was so very pleased with what I took from the reviews and basing my critique on what I took from the reviews and pictures. (Don't let the whiners discourage you). This was a good purchase. The color is a Sage Tauge...but you really can tell from the picture. The fabric is velvet but the type you can spot clean if need. I put this in my Master bedroom, and its stunning and for the price! Spectacular!! My son-in-law put it together by himself with power tools in 30 min I tried it with a box spring but that was too high! Just use a mattress. It also will probably look good with dark wood casegoods. But i don't feel locked in with using a fabric color but it's still IMO versatile in a lot of different color palates.

    Verified Purchase

This bed looks great but it doesn't stay up!!!! It fell apart after my second night sleeping on it. The support legs did nothing. They actually twisted under the weight (between me and my husband we weigh about 330 pounds). Once the support beams went the slates feel out of the cheap plastic locks and therefore the bed sank on one corner. The support legs can not be repaired as they actually broke off. I wish I had spent more money for a better quality bed. Not sure what we are going to do now. Attempt to rebuild the bed or just buy a new one. I am majorly disappointed with this purchase and feel like I wasted my money. Not sure If I will buy something off overstock again.

I am in love with my new bed. I have been wanting and searching for a headboard/ bedframe for a while now but thought a stylish and comfortable one would be out of my budget. I was so excited to find this one in a feminine/ modern style with a plush headboard for sitting up and reading. It is a nice cush material and high-quality and ridiculously good deal! I shopped around a lot and this was definitely the best deal and looked a lot nicer than a lot of the other ones i saw in real life. I have an actual photo of this headboard on my blog that shows the true color a little better. http://www.**=004 is the link to the photo. One of the boxes was MISSING INSTRUCTIONS and after initial freakout I calmed down and figured it out without instructions, so the bed is easy to put together. I would say 2 out of 5 stars on how hard it is to assemble. Other reviewers mentioned the plastic support beams which do seem kind of cheapie but they stand fine on my hardwood floors with cats running around underneath.

  • Great but not AH-MAZING
    Verified Purchase

After months of stalking this bed, I decided to bite the bullet. I wanted the look of an expensive upholstered but but didn't have the budget for it. It arrived in 3 boxes and they are SUPER heavy-which is a good/bad thing. Good for me thinking it wasn't cheap, but for me having to lift it. I wasn't hard to put together, just used the tools that came with. CONS: I tried to only use my mattress and not the boxspring but the slats keep falling so I am forced to use both, which still looks good - it just doesn't have that high headboard look I was going for. I looks really pretty but there is also a huge gap at the footboard where the mattress sits. Overall, I'm happy with it but don't know if I'd get this again. I don't know how much weight that this can take and don't trust it 100% . Color wise, I have tans and beiges in my house and this had more of a grey/green tinge to it, which his is still neutral but if you don't want an olive greenish tinge to it, pass this up. Hope this helps one of you who are on the fence like I was. :)

  • Great Bed
    Verified Purchase

I was a little bit nervous about the quality of this bed after reading the other reviews, but I couldn't pass up something this beautiful for so great a price. The assembly was not difficult, it was just hard to do by myself given that the pieces are so large. The most time consuming step was to screw in like 20 screws with the included allen wrench. The first night, I did experience the problem of the slats falling out from their plastic holders in the underside of the bed. However, the next day I made sure the metal support beam was level (side to side) and that seems to have completely solved the problem. I did not have an issue with the center support legs like other people. After seeing them mentioned in the other reviews as being plastic, I was surprised to find that there are actually metal legs with plastic screw-in adjustable bases. I had no problem adjusting them to make the support beam level, which also helps with stability. I was very worried about the bed being wobbly, but it is solid as a rock! Also, you really do not need to use a box spring with this bed, because the slats are the European equivalent. It also would block off a lot of the headboard!

  • Bed Falls Apart
    Verified Purchase

This bed falls apart. Do not buy this bed if you plan on having it on a hardwood floor. The cheap plastic pegs that are supposed to support the flimsy wooden frame of the bed will slip out from underneath instantly. They also break easily. The wooden boards also broke right away...this all happened within a few nights of using the bed and I'm a 120 pound single female, and my memory foam mattress is only 8 inches thick. I had a friend screw 6 two by four planks of wood onto the frame of the bed to replace the unsupportive board frame that broke...but this caused the frame to start breaking away from the bed. Right now my mattress is on the floor of my living room. I will have to buy a regular metal bedframe and box spring to attempt to use this bed for appearances purposes only.

(Frankly, something that I have never had to worry about when purchasing a bed...had no idea that an adult queen size bed would not be able to support 2 people.) I do like the look of the bed. I noticed a number of people have indicated they have reinforced this bed on their own. I am not too handy. Is it just a matter of having slats cut at Home Depot? I remember someone mentioning they bought blocks for the bottom as well. I am trying to decide if I will even open the boxes once I receive them.
