This is a great product. Storage is not a problem. It takes the same amount of space as a normal snow shovel. I keep mine near the front door. You don't have to worry about storing gas because you are using your own two legs. My brother in law liked it so much he bought one. I like the way it moves the snow out of the way. It only take a few minutes and your done.
This snow blower is easy to assemble, starts easily and is very lightweight. I only had a chance to use it on about 4 inches of light snow. It cleared my 2 car driveway, sidewalk and walkway to the house on one charge, in about 20 minutes. It also removed about 2-3 inches of iced over snow the county snowplow left at the end of the driveway. I am satisfied with it but feel it could use more power and be built with stronger materials. The machine itself doesn't feel very sturdy, which makes me wonder about its longevity. I like the electric chute control but I would have liked a manual option too, just in case it stops working. I know this is new technology for a snow blower but I think its price **** over priced. The price would be justified if it came with 2 batteries or if it could be used either corded or cordless. On the plus side, it is electric, cordless, and lightweight. It's convenient to use and there is no need to worry about gas or oil and it's virtually maintenance free. It is easy for women and seniors to use too. I'm skeptical about the longevity of it but I guess I find out. In hindsight, I would have purchased the 15 amp corded electric and saved myself *** dollars.
I live in the south suburbs just outside of Chicago and close to NW Indiana. I purchased snow thrower after our extremely snowy start to 2014. I opened the put in the few screws and fired it up. It works great on my driveway and side walk. I did have to apply a little pressure to get down to the surface. The cost it is more than I excepted.
On the morning of our first big snowfall, I was online purchasing a Snow Joe Eco Friendly Electric 18-inch Snow Blower. Had I had this snow blower prior to that day, I would not have thrown my back out shoveling. By the next week and our second snowfall, my Snow Joe was sitting dutifully in my living room in preparation for use. As I prepared for the process of putting it together by donning my reading glasses and dusting off my tool box, I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the box and discovered it was practically already put together and no tools were necessary. Within 10 minutes, I was ready for a test run. It would have been less time, but I still had to put on my winter gear and read the directions (because that is the kind of person I am). Since that initial snowfall, I have used this product 3 times. My back is truly grateful. While it doesnt clean as well as I can in my anal-ness with a shovel, it does a good enough job to keep me from receiving a citation by my homeowners association and I can also get my neighbor to do clean my driveway in exchange for its use. The only suggestion I would have is to make sure you have a way to secure the power cord to the plug-in because the cord tends to fall out every now and then even with the plastic device that is attached to prevent it from doing so.
