Dedicated to deliver good sleep and a great tomorrow, Slumber Solutions is proud to offer this mattress to you as part of our Choose Your Comfort program. I bought medium and i have to say it’s more comfortable than I thought it was gonna be. My favorite part is not feeling the normal mattress’ springs, and not feeling when the person next to me moves. It is pretty heavy.

This is good as the mattress cost twice as much. Comfortable. I have now slept on this for a couple of weeks and find it very very comfortable. I will be furnishing mynguest bedroom soon and plan to buy the same mattress.

I've had this bed for about 3 months now. I was so worried about it sinking in the middle or just not being comfortable. I bought this due to the reviews and I have to say that the positive reviews were right. This wasn't as firm as I was hoping so if you like really firm, go with the firmest that they have.

    • Careful with firm option selection

No issues with the transaction. I would warn against selecting the firm option. I didn't realize there was such a thing as too firm on a mattress. I wake up with body aches every time I fall asleep for a few hours on this mattress. If I could do it all over, would definitely go with the soft or medium option.

My greatest concern was that foam could never approach the firmness of traditional (coil) mattresses. But this mattress surprised me. If you like "rock-hard", stay with coil (because foam tends to be less firm). But if your preference is medium to firm, then buy the "FIRM" version of this mattress. It's construction combines the best of both worlds: very supportive lower layer with a super-comfortable AND SOFT foam upper layer. When it comes to foam, firm=medium, medium=soft, soft=very soft, so don't be afraid to select "firm"! I am very pleased with the quality and value of this purchase.

    • Excellent mattress!

12/17/17 - I'm updating my original review . I have since purchased 2 more of these firm comfort mattresses. Gave them to my grown sons. Everyone loves them! In fact recently my daughter-in-law asked me the name of the mattress, because her friend laid down on the bed and absolutely loved the comfort and wanted to know here she could get one for herself! The word is spreading! These ar the best mattresses for the price!! Always a comfortable nights rest! Got this for a guest room. Got the firm comfort and I'm very happy with this mattress! I'm planning on replacing my Sterns & Foster King for my bedroom. That mattress is sub par even though Sterns & Foster is suppose to be a good mattress, this one is not. The Slumber Solutions is exactly as others have said in their reviews! Great mattress, Great price and very, very comfortable. Loved how it expands when you cut away the packaging. It expanded immediately and there was no unpleasant smell! :) I would definitely recommend it, as I already have. Thanks again OS! Note: very heavy! Needed 2 people to carry it to the second floor!

I've had this mattress about 2 months now. I am very pleased with this mattress so far. It is perfect for me and my husband. Our other mattress was over 20 years old and definitely worn out. I just hated the thought of going to a mattress store and spending the money for a new set. I decided to try this one because the cost was so economical and I figured if I didn't like it I could put it on my guest bed and then search for something else for us, and I wouldn't be out thousands of dollars for something i didn't like. I LOVE this mattress. It came in a large duffel bag, vacuum sealed and it was heavy! I don't think I could have carried it in on my own. Thank goodness for my husband. We got it in and set it on our old box spring, which was still in good shape. I didn't have the issue with smell that others have complained about. We let it sit a minimum of 24 hours and then put on a mattress cover. We purchased the "medium" firmness. It was a little firm at first but within a week it was perfect. Prior to this purchase both me and my husband woke up achy every morning. My husband was experiencing a lot of back pain. I would toss and turn all night, and wake up with numb arms, hands. I now sleep through the night most nights, only waking up occasionally (usually when the cat jumps on me :-) ). NO more numbness. I can't believe the difference in our sleep. We are getting the best sleep in years and we no longer wake up in pain, my husband no longer complains of his back hurting. This mattress does sleep hot for me, but not my husband. You shouldn't need too many blankets. It's winter here now and I only use one quilt and a light duvet. I have woken up sweating a couple times but I'm not sure if that is the mattress or hormones. Overall I am very happy with this purchase and so is my husband (who was very skeptical about ordering a mattress online). It arrived sooner than expected. I'm recommending this to other friends and family too. I hope this review is helpful to others. It's a little long but these are the kind of reviews I look for when researching online purchases.

    Questions & Answers

    • Q:

      "Can you flip it?"

      • A:

No it can't flip it but you can reverse it. The top layer is the cooling layer of foam

      • A:

No, you cannot flip it. You do not need to flip it, it is very well constructed, has higher memory foam density than other brands in the same price category. I bought the firm, it may have its form longer than the medium or soft, but it is still very comfy.

    • Q:

"The picture shows three layers on the mattress. How thick is each layer?"

      • A:

        don't. know...haven't seen them yet...

      • A:

My foam mattress is three layers as well and total height of it is approx. 14 " of course give or take a little. Not sure thickness of the layers because they r encased in that outer fabric skin of mattress. All I know is that it is a GREAT mattress.

      • A:

I bought 2 of these for my teenage boys - One put it directly on the slats of his bed frame and the other took his new bed frame and threw it in the spare bedroom and threw threw his box spring on the floor and put his new mattress on top of his old box spring. Both feel the same to me, these are very thick very comfortable mattress which alot of support so even if it were sitting on the floor it would feel the same (which is what he wanted to do but I told him it would get extremely dirty)

    • Q:

"Do you take away the old mattress and box springs?"

      • A:

I took away just the old mattress and left the box spring but if you have slats the new mattress will be OK on it. It weighs close to 90 pounds and is thick and heavy. This is excellent material. Due to the fact its foam etc it makes sense to have some support under it.

      • A:

No. Neither Overstock or the carrier take away the old mattress and box spring. The item is delivered by UPS, vacuumed sealed and rolled up tightly in a big duffel bag.

      • A:

IF your question is regarding delivery, then the answer is no. This memory foam mattress is delivered onto your doorstep in a big black duffel bag - no in-house delivery and no haul away of old mattress.

      • A:

You will need the box springs, but this mattress is too thick for a second mattress underneath it. It is wonderful! You will love it. It does take a few nights to get used to, but after that, best mattress ever.

      • A:

If you mean will they pick them up, then no. The mattress comes FedEx or UPS. You are responsible for correctly disposing of the old mattress. If you do not have a platform bed made for a 'mattress only' you will still need a box spring or bunkie board underneath this mattress

      • A:

I considered discarding both old mattress and box and getting a foundation or slats but ended up keeping my boxspring from my old set that had a lower profile and it works awesome. Alot will depend on the quality of what you had for sure too. DAN M

      • A:

No disposal of the old mattress is your responsibility. This is a great mattress. I went with a firm one.

      • A:

Overstock ships the mattress to your door. It's up to you to dispose of your old mattress and box spring.

      • A:

I have a wooden platform bed with dressers under it.

      • A:

no they don't. It is shipped by shipping company not Overstock.

      • A:

Overstock delivers the mattress through UPS or Fed Ex, therefore, they are not going to dispose of your mattress and box springs for you.

      • A:

You will receive just the mattress. You need to use it on a platform or with some type of foundation.

      • A:

u should ask Overstock itself, some places one can pay an extra $ for premium delivery and maybe that could be included....first ask Overstock, and they would likely refer u to the delivery service, but the mattresses are not that large to require the oversize delivery folks, they are rolled and in a bag and just dumped by the typical UPS or Fed Ex folks...

      • A:

no the delivery service does not remove your old mattress and box springs

      • A:

I kept my old box spring for a while and then replaced it. My frame by itself would not support this type of mattress. The best bed for this would be a platform bed.

      • A:

We put this on an adjustable bed, so did not need the box springs... so yes, we took away the old matterss and box springs. We had a relative who wanted it.

"I am a side sleeper and am 5"10 200 lbs. What firmness would you recommend?"

      • A:

I am 5'11 200 LBS we bought the medium it is very uncomfortable and they do not have a return on it

      • A:

I bought the firm mattress and I love it. It gives my back support but it is very easy on my hips when sleeping on my side. I love this mattress!

      • A:

I am also a side sleeper and I got the firm and I absolutely love it! I have sciatica and the pain has lessened dramatically since I got this mattress.

      • A:

I am a side sleeper, 5'7", 170 lbs. I bought the medium and while it felt extremely firm at first, as soon as I laid down on it, it adjusted to my body and I was very comfortable. I actually look forward to bedtime just so I can sleep on this mattress.

      • A:

I bought the firm & I’ve been really happy with it, perfect with my back problems!

      • A:

I should think the firm. I like it best.

      • A:

I have the medium mattress. I love it! My husband is 5'10" 280 lbs, he says it's very comfortable. I guess it depends on how soft or hard you like your mattresses to be. Jen

      • A:

I like the firm because it is better for your back.

      • A:

I am 6'2" and 195Lbs. I find the matrass (medium) very comfortable for sleeping on my back. I must say it is not as comfortable for sleeping on my sides however. Have had some back issues (sports and work related so the issues may only pertain to me. I use the matrass on an adjustable bed and am otherwise quite happy with the purchase as well as company support so far.

      • A:

Well I am to and I purchased the firm mattress and sleep comfortably. I to am a side sleeper 6’ 240#. It’s really a comfortable mattress.

      • A:

I'm 5'9" and 180; we have the firm mattress and we love it!

      • A:

5 ft 8 in and 185. Firm and I love it. I have back problems and I am comfortable in all positions.

      • A:

I also am I a side sleeper, 5'7" 150 lbs. I ordered the medium and it is a tad too hard

      • A:

I ordered the firm after reading the reviews of others who had purchased it. It came 2 days later right after Cyber Monday and I absolutely love it. I was sick and in bed all through Christmas and was so happy that I had this mattress! I sleep on my side, my back and sometimes on my stomach and I haven't found a position that this mattress does not support. My significant other is going to order one for his bed because he says it's the best mattress he has ever slept on and he is about your size.

      • A:

I’m 6’3” 220lbs. Side and back sleeper . I had neck surgery 8-8-17 bought the medium and have no issues whatsoever.

      • A:

I also am a side sleeper who sometimes can sleep on her back. I have had many back & neck surgeries, torn both knees and a shoulder and will eventually have to have a hip replaced. I got the medium firm in the 14” mattress. I read all the product information and reviews first. From these sources, the deeper mattress was recommended and from the reviews the softer mattress made it difficult to get out of bed. Since I already have plenty of injuries I didn’t need to make it worse by struggling to get out of bed. I still needed support for my back and the medium firm does this without causing pain to other areas. Some reviewers have the firm but these people didn’t have as many injuries to cope with. One thing you should think about is if you move around a lot while sleeping. If you move around frequently you won’t develop pressure points. I think if you got the firm, pressure points would be a problem. The medium firm gives plenty of support and I don’t feel like I’m fighting the mattress to get or be comfortable. Also, returning this mattress is going to be a royal pain; when you unpack it, it expands a lot and there’s no way to repack it for shipping. I’d go with medium firm it feels like sleeping on the most perfect cloud your body can imagine

      • A:

I’m 6’1’’. I weigh about 220 and I bought the firm which works well as long as you are not sleeping on the outer edge of the mattress. Also I am too heavy to sit on te edge of the bed. Other than that a great mattress.

      • A:

My son is 6'1 250 lbs , we purchased a firm and he absolutely loves it!

      • A:

I think the firm one will suite you best. Even firm in memory foam is soft. - Nice Beds, we have two of them.

      • A:

I have 2 of these mattresses. I definitely would not order the firm. I recommend the medium for your size and sleeping style.

      "How Comfortable is the Mattress?"

      • A:

        It's very comfortable.

      • A:

Very comfortable. It takes about a week to get use to it if you have never used a foam stress before.

      • A:

Love the comfort level of this mattress. After sleeping on my new bed for a few months already I wondered why I even bought my Euro Pillow top Sleepys coil mattress before. By the way, I bought a medium which is a little firm than what i am used to but amazing on my back.

      • A:

It takes a few nights to get used to this mattress, but it is amazing! No back ache since I got this mattress. It is so comfortable, I can hardly wait to get into it at night.

    • Q:

"What firmness is recommended for someone with constant back pain from an accident?"

      • A:

Most doctors recommend a firm matress. I have back problems, but I prefer the soft version of this matress. Why? I prefer it because this matress molds to the shape of my back thereby giving me support at all pain points without undue pressure. It's the only matress I've owned that doesn't add to my pain after a night's sleep. Unfortunately, mattress comfort is very much a personal issue.

      • A:

I was not in an accident but I do have chronic lower back pain. I ordered firm and have not had any pain sleeping on this mattress. The firm is very firm though. So if you do not like a harder surface to sleep on I would get the medium instead.

      • A:

My husband has also had multiple back surgeries and I have a neck fusion and both of us find the medium to be very comfortable as this is a thick mattress.

      • A:

I think firm will give your back the best support while at the same time memory foam even in firm is soft. I have a an old injury to my back and this bed helps with the pain. Nice Bed.

      • A:

I got the medium to replace a firm mattress that I had. It's hard to comfort this mattress to a regular one, but the medium is just firm enough without being hard. Feels very soft to the touch, but supports all the heavy spots!

      • A:

I used the same box springs I had. If you have a platform bed, you would not use the box springs

      Read more Read less
    • Q:

"Does it require a box spring underneath it, or can it be placed on the queen sized mattress frame as is?"

      • A:

You can use your old box spring not your mattress.

      • A:

it doesn't need a box spring just a frame with slats to hold it up.

      • A:

can be put directly on slats. no need of box spring

      • A:

I recommend either using a box spring or a a platform bed. The end hangs over a regular queen bed frame and there is no support at the foot of the bed.

      • A:

No box spring necessary, we placed ours right on our 18" platform frame. It's a very tall mattress, so with a box spring it will be quite high unless you have a very short frame.

      • A:

No it doesn't need a box spring. I've bought 3 so far, 2 are being used on box springs & 1 is being used in a platform bed w/o box springs. They love it !! No complaints.

      • A:

No it doesn't required spring box.. I love my mattress it's the best purchase I've ever made in a mattress ever

      • A:

But it's not the best for 2-people sleeping on it....

      • A:

We added a couple pieces of plywood to our queen size frame and got rid of the box spring. NO MORE box spring noise. YAY

      • A:

A box screen is best, but not needed on some slated beds, I would not use an old bed underneath because the whole bed will be not function as designed it would be too floppy. Even alone this mattress on a piece of plywood is great, but it may be too low - so an old box spring would be great and add height. Scott

"How do I determine the firmness I should order?"

      • A:

I weigh 300 lbs I ordered the med its soft and firm enough its just right. Now I sleep very well with no more sinking into the mattress. This caused nerve damage to my left forearm & hand and my lower back. I lose muscle tissue in my left forearm & hand and both legs and feet plus all the burning and stinging numbness that came with it. The burning and stinging numbness has all stopped have not regained the muscle mass as of yet That I may never reverse.

      • A:

I ordered a medium for a guest bedroom and everyone who has slept on it has commented on how great it is.

      • A:

I have a medium and been using it for six months. In the first couple months I had to get used to it, having used “traditional” mattresses. However, it sleeps like a “dream”. I also added a very comfy mattress pad as I always done with all my mattresses.

      • A:

i read the reviews and then decided. Glad I did it worked out and I am very happy with my purchase.

    • Q:

"Is this a good mattress to use with an adjustable bed?"

      • A:

I personally wouldn't buy it for an adjustable bed. It is extremely heavy and will slide off bed during ajusting

      • A:

I agree very thick mattress for an adjustable bed.

      • A:

I don’t know if the two people who answered this question actually have it on an adjustable frame . or if they are just guessing. I have an adjustable bed frame , and it works well on it. I bought this mattress because I was having foot surgery. I would be spending a lot of recovery time in bed, with my foot elevated. It has been great. It does not slide off the bed, because the bed has a bar at the bottom that prevents the slide. If I’m laying on the bed I can raise and lower the head and foot well. If I’m not on the bed and I raise it way up , to clean under the bed. It doesn’t flex that well. But if my weight is on the bed it’s fine. It is such a big improvement over the original mattress. I’m reallt glad I bought it at such a great price. I read a lot of the reviews , and followed others advise regarding set up. It was a lot of fun to watch it expand. I didn’t get any unusual odor from it, like some people commented on. I am overall very happy with this mattress for my adjustable bed. It’s very thick. And I can not sit on the bed to put my shoes on any longer . Because it’s to high now. I would also mention , like some others did, that the edge is hard to sit on. It lacks firmness around the edge. That was not a dealbreaker for me. I get a great nights sleep on this mattress every night since I bought it. It does not make me sweat, but I did splurge for the lambs wool mattress pad. So that may have solved that problem , before it started!

      • A:

I wouldn't know about adjustable bed options. BUT, this mattress is nice and firm.. I am glad we purchased one like this.

      • A:

No. It's too heavy and it doesn't have the flexibility you'd need for an adjustable bed

      • A:

probably not. Its a great Mattress (minus the cool gel it claims) but is firm and comfortable. It would be to bulky for an adjustable bed.

"I have a bed that has screw down slats and they are between 2 to 3 inch in between, do I need to purchase a base or a box spring to hold the mattress in place?"

      • A:

Nope. It works fine on a slat base. It’s a tall mattress, so it raises the height of the bed a fair bit, but it feels great with no base or box spring needed.

      • A:

No you dont need a base or a box spring the bed will be fine without one however if you're looking for height then yes you will need a boxspring.

    • Q:

"I would like to order this mattress, but I won't be able to unwrap/open it for about 3 weeks. In the description, it says to open it within 72 hours of receiving it. Is there any particular reason that it must be opened that quickly and/or what would happen it I didn't open it for 3 weeks?"

      • A:

There will be not problem waiting 3 weeks, even a year. They say that so that the mattress will quickly expand and look perfect. The longer it stays in the box it may need just a bit of time to take full shape and its amazing watching these grow once opened. Ours took perfect form in 15 minutes, so it wont matter if you wait a few weeks, I am sure these sit on warehouse shelves for much longer anyway. Scott (in Oregon)

I bought this mattress & did not open it for 3 months, no problem, opened up great. Just make sure when you open it you have it where you want it! It's heavy & hard to move if you don't ! Simply amazing how this thing opens up! I just ordered my 2nd one!

      • A:

No it cannot. Must be spot cleaned only. When I purchased my mattress, I also purchased a mattress protection cover. A little insurance against accidents is worth the extra money spent.

      • A:

We recommend opening within 72 hours of receiving it to allow the foam to expand to its original state. Waiting for an extended period of time to open it could cause the foam to not recover properly.

      • A:

I never read that in the description. Oops. Not too sure their reasoning. However I got this mattress for my brother, on 12/8 & he didn't open it until 12/24... everything was fine. It was a little hard to get out of the bag it came in probably due to the expansion of the mattress since they compress the air out & roll it up like sushi. When you take it out, it starts to blow up quickly with air. Maybe its not good to have the mattress rolled up that long or something to do with keeping it compressed inside the bag? Again it was hard getting it out of the bag, but besides that everything was good for me. Hope this helps...

"Can you remove the top cover from the memory foam and machine wash it? I spilled something that soaked into the sheets and went onto the mattress pad of the memory foam. I was trying to spot clean it with vinegar and water and joy dish washing soap and realized you could unzip the top portion. Can this be machine washed to remove stains? "

      • A:

sorry no it can't be removed

      • A:

        No. I don't think so

      • A:

Yes I have washed the zipped portion in the washing machine with no problems

      • A:

No, but you can buy a nice water proof zip cover for it that goes under it too. They are a bit hard to put on, so you will need help, they are microfiber so sound crinkly like plastic. (Scott from Oregon)

      • A:

We recommend spot cleaning the mattress cover only, and do not machine wash. The zipper is there for the manufacturing process only, not for removal.

      • A:

The top cover cannot be romoved. Because the bed is so soft and plush as soon as I got it I ordered a mattress cover for it to avoid spills.

"Do I need a box spring with this mattress?"

      • A:

No I have screwed down bed slats with a hardiboard platform on top works great for 5 yrs now

      • A:

No need. It would be too high then.

"My 17 year old son just checked out a Tulo/Soft and really liked it. This is a much better buy though. It sounds like if he likes soft, he should go with a medium on this mattress. Has anyone compared this to a Tulo? Also, do you wake up sweating? Thanks!"

      • A:

I have surgical back and find firm great. I'd suggest medium as it softens slightly with time. No sweating even in hottest summer.

      • A:

I have no comparisons to other foam mattresses but bought this to replace a pricey sterns and foster that sagged too much in the center when I slept with my husband. For the money we have been very pleased. Went with the soft since we like squishy mattresses and it is not overly so. It sleeps a little hot but being a woman in my 50's that could be due to other issues! My husband has never complained about it being too hot. For the price it can't be beat and I plan to purchase a bunch more for our vacation home.

      • A:

We purchased the soft one and - The soft is actually kind of firm, not as soft as I thought, nice mattress in soft or medium. (Scott in Oregon)

      • A:

It is true, they soften over time; our old memory bed softened after years. After many years, the bed kind takes on a dip where you sleep even if you rotate the mattress. We bought this new one after ten years, so they do last a long time. I would not go back to the old spring mattresses. I have an old back injury and these beds help. (Scott in Oregon)

    • Q:

"What is the return policy on this?"

      • A:

Once opened this product is not returnable.

    • Q:

"Would this get damaged on a futon frame?"

      • A:

We do not recommend using this mattress on a futon frame, as it does not have enough support for the mattress.

    • Q:

"Bought a mattress recently and I sunk into it causing significant lower back pain at night. Worried about buying a new mattress with the return policy but thinking of buying the firm. Anyone had a similar experience that can help? "

      • A:

I got the softest and boy is it soft. Everyone said how firm the softest was but they were wrong! It's a beautiful comfortable bed all the same!: Very good quality and if u go s the firm I think you would be fine.

    • Q:

"Can this mattress be used with an adjustable bed?"

      • A:

I don't see any possible way this mattress could be rolled up Futon style, it is firm and thick. I would not recommend trying that. It is a wonderful mattress for traditional use, everyone at my home who sleeps this mattress brags about the comfort, no pressure points, no AM backaches. I would most definitely buy again.

    • Q:

"Is there a protective encasement you can recommend to go with this purchase?"

      • A:

I don't know. I think any Queen size would fit

      • A:

I bought Tuffguard Premium Waterproof Terry Mattress Protector to use as a mattress cover for my queen size Slumber Solutions mattress, and it's great. The top is terry, and it's very lightweight. Doesn't make a sound and doesn't make you sweat. The mattress is 14 inches thick, and the protector has very deep pockets. In fact the cover is huge on all sides, but stays tucked in and doesn't slide off. Haven't spilled anything on the mattress yet, but I feel safe knowing there's a layer of protection if there's an accident. Definitely would recommend this product. It's machine washable on gentle cycle, and can go in the dryer, but I prefer to line dry it only because I feel it may prevent damage.
