    • I hope you like it- NO RETURNS
      Verified Purchase

I bought it with the guarantee that I have 30 days to return it if I don't like it. However, this is ONLY if you don't open the compressed mattress. You of course must open it to sleep on it. The mattress made my back hurt, and Overstock will not take it back. In fact, their solution was for me to send more money to Overstock for a foam mattress topper for my foam mattress. Now I have a large, back-pain inducing mattress and more than *** fewer dollars.

This is the most comfortable mattress i have ever owned. It is every bit as good as the ones out there being sold for 3 times as much. I am spoiled now and can't sleep on anything else.

While doing some research on our next mattress, I decided to search on Overstock and so happy I did! Decided to order the medium and it sleeps great and remains cool which is what I needed. It sleeps really well and would definitely order one again if I ever needed another mattress!

I have never purchased a mattress sight unseen but decided to rely on the great reviews. Good choice, and my sister bought the same mattress 2 weeks later.

Like everyone else, we were afraid making an online unseen purchase. A lot of research was done about materials, quality, price, heat generation, our weight, sleeping styles, and sleep problems. This mattress was chosen and after a few weeks of use we have no regrets. After all our research buying a mattress that would serve both of us became our greatest concern - we differ a lot in size. We both like sleeping on our sides so that aspect was never a problem. But our size was. I am 5ft 5in 130lbs and he is 6ft 225lbs. We had a firm spring pillow top mattress before. Our greatest complaint was waking up mid-sleep with pressure point pains, most often in the hip and shoulder and often waking up feeling like we were in a fight all night - stressed muscle and joint discomfort. We purchased the "medium" mattress. It supports us BOTH quite well while sleeping on our sides. All of the discomfort issues from the previous conventional mattress have disappeared. A minor fear of heat generation has never proved in any form - the gel memory layer actually works. I can honestly say this is a sound purchase for us. ONE WARNING - When the mattress arrives you will likely need help in moving it from the door to anywhere - be prepared. It is heavy.

I bought the medium and I also bought the firm. The medium is super soft and cradles me perfectly while I sleep. The firm when I sit or put my hand into the mattress it's soft and seems comfortable. I weigh 150 pounds and when I lay down I don't sink in or "melt" in at all. Too firm for my taste.

I read a lot of comments saying they wished the would have chose the firm mattress. Well I did and it's so so form. We have been sleeping on the bed now for 3 weeks and I hate it. I wake up sore and tired. I wish I could get the medium one but we have to deal with this one. I feel like I wasted *** Thanks for listening to me complain. Good luck on your mattress. Wish I had a softer mattress.

Wow! I have recommended this mattress to so many of my friends since purchasing. My fiancee and I LOVE it. It's extremely comfortable - so much so that our puppy insists on sleeping on it, because her memory foam bed isn't as comfortable. And for the price, the quality is truly incredible.

We've bought two of these beds. One for each kid. They really like them and say the beds are really comfortable. They are a little heavy but come rolled up and compressed like a giant sausage so they aren't that hard to maneuver. Watching them "inflate" after opening is kinda of fun too. Others people have mentioned a smell, but I didn't notice any strong smell. Obviously, I'd buy it again. :)

    Questions & Answers

    • Q:

"What is the density rating and indentation load deflection for each option (firm, medium, and plush)? Thank you!"

      • A:

I am not sure really how to answer this question. The firm is firm. It molds to your body when you sleep. It is the best mattress I have ever had. I have purchased two of them, one for my home and one for a farm house. I am fixing to purchase a third one for a guest bedroom. My son just purchased one for a new home and my daughter has purchased two of them. I don't think you will be disappointed.

      • A:

I also don't know how to answer this question but we purchased the mattress for our son, who is 6'5" tall and 280 lbs - he absolutely loves the bed and refuses to sleep anywhere else. And when he does have to (travel) he complains the entire time. It is a very thick mattress and he has always had trouble finding one to support his body frame. He swears by this bed.

      • A:

I have bought the third one for my home. I bought a queen and went with the medium. Then I got one for a double bed and got a medium. I decided to get one for my bed which was a queen. Everyone else raved about the medium. I did not open it till 2 months later. Think it is soft and I would not recommend it. You can sit on sides of the medium but the soft goes way down!. My husband says it is very comfortable to lay on at 210 pounds thought. But it is hard to turn over in. Would not recommend for an older person.

      • A:

I do not know how to determine the density rating or the indentation load deflection. I purchased the medium, and it leans on the soft to medium side. My ex-wife says that she misses this mattress so much.

      • A:

I purchased this mattress for a guest room. My sister, who definitely knows what hot flashes are and gets hot at night, slept on it and said she didn't get hot on it at all. I have yet to try it out, but since she often gets hot at night, I trust her opinion.

      • A:

This is my second memory foam mattress. This model does not sleep hot for me at all.

"is the soft mattress give decent support on a box spring"

      • A:

We have one on a box spring and one on a platform. Both are good. I am very disappointed in the third mattress I received. I bought 2 slumber solution mattresses in the medium. They are great. Ordered another one for the 3rd. bed in medium. It is super soft, way to soft. I don't think it is a medium.

"I am considering ordering this mattress. I would like to know if this could be placed on (comfortably) a regular BoxSpring or is there a particular base needed? {Sorry if Question has already been asked / answered}"

      • A:

I have read a box spring mattress or several slats are best. I can tell you I used a box spring mattress without ill effect. It needs something rigid as it will readily bow when moved.

      • A:

It could be used on a box springs just fine even as thick as it is. We're using ours in our travel trailer on a platform and LOVE IT! It's super comfortable.

      • A:

I put mine on a regular wooden box spring! Hope that helps :)

      • A:

Yes, a box spring will work fine with this mattress.

      • A:

We used it on our existing box spring...it is awesome! Really an incredibly great mattress at an amazing price!

      • A:

Mine is on a box spring. Works fine.

    • Q:

"OVERSTOCK - Are any of these mattresses compatible with an adjustable bed frame?"

      • A:

No, not with metal bed frames. must have a platform bed with many slats or bunkie board or plywood. Also center support bed is recommended! I tried this on a metal bed frame bed, no good. You sink,Moro to the middle. I have 2 of these on slat platform beds and they ar very comfortable !

      • A:

YES. Have to have box for metal frame.

    • Q:

"Will this work on an adjustable bed frame"

      • A:

Yes, this mattress will work with an adjustable bed frame. We ordered this mattress in queen for my daughter and just ordered a second for myself.

      • A:

Yes - I purchased this and use it on an adjustable bed frame with no problems.

    • Q:

"So I purchased this in Med firm both in a full size and a queen size. The full size in on a metal frame and is in my sons room and perfect sink in. We placed our Queen size on a box spring and it is hard as a rock. There is nothing on the mattress to verify what firmness we received. Those of you that have this mattress what foundation type are you using and do you think that that changes the firmness of the mattress?"

      • A:

I read somewhere prior to purchasing that memory foam mattresses can vary from mattress to mattress, even when the manufacturer and model are the same. I imagine that the amount of time that it's allowed to expand prior to use can also have an impact on the ultimate level of firmness. We allowed ours to expand for the full 48 hours on top of the Queen mattress in our guest room prior to use, then moved it into our bedroom and placed it on a traditional box spring foundation. We ordered the firm, and it's great for us, but I would call it medium-firm.

      • A:

There should be a sticker on the law tag stating the firmness of the mattress. If not, there should at least be a number written on it that the factory can determine firmness from. The description of the item on the website states "Due to the nature of Memory Foam the firmness level of every item is unique. Please be advised that even similar products may produce different firmness results." Memory foam will respond to the temperature in the room, and also will be different based on the temperature and weather conditions during the time the foam was poured. Due to this, no 2 products can feel exactly the same.

      • A:

I bought this mattress in medium for firmness and it sits on a big sheet of firm plywood because I have a low profile bed frame. Absolutely love it! I let it air out for about 18 hours before sleeping on it the first time. Purchased it almost a year ago and all my aches and pains are gone. Back pain? Gone. Sore hips? No more. I'm 5'3 and weigh 128lbs and this mattress has held up better than any other I've owned. I tend to sleep on the edge, in the same spot every night. There hasn't been any 'breakdown' or sagging at all. My last mattress was an innerspring and after a year, my spot looked like a nest of sorts. It didn't hold up and I would wake up feeling stiff and sore. Hope this info's helpful!

      • A:

My husband and I both have severe back problems. We purchased the 14" firm mattress and placed it on a box spring. We've had it for approximately one year, and we're both extremely comfortable. I just purchased a 12" queen sized firm mattress for a Murphy bed in the guest room. It will be supported on slats. The bed has yet to be assembled, but I'll review it once we have it together.

    • Q:

"Do I need deep pocket sheets for the 12 inch gel memory foam mattress?"

      • A:

I use deep pocket sheets and find that they do not pull up from the corners. Best bed I have ever bought worth buying nice sheets for it. I also have a very thin deep pocket mattress pad on it. Love it.

    • Q:

"I see so many reviews talking about the softness & hardness of the mattresses. Some say the firm is super firm. Some say the soft is firm. Some say the medium is firm. Some say the soft is way too soft. Some say the medium is way too soft. I typically lean towards soft mattresses. So my question is what is it???"

      • A:

I have to say the medium firm was to soft for me. I had to purchase a firmer mattress. So if you go with soft I think it'll be perfect for you. The top layer is like a pillow top that adds even more softness. Hope today helps!

      • A:

I think it depends on the one you receive. I ordered two, queen size, different times. Grandson's is firm (my preference). Ours' is soft (too soft for me.)

      • A:

I have the medium and it's the "Goldilocks" bed for me - just right.. I put it on an adjustable frame can couldn't be happier.

      • A:

I would call it firm. When you sit on it, it feels very firm. When you lay down, it feels firm at first, but then it feels like its enveloping your body and is very comfortable. I would definitively recommend this mattress.

      • A:

I also was confused and so I had to just decide. I ordered firm. I love it but my husband says it is too hard for him. I figure perhaps it is because I lay on my side and it sinks to cradle my body in all the right areas. He is a back sleeper and perhaps it is too firm for him that way. I do know if that is helpful but whenever I do purchase another I am sure the medium density will be perfect for the both of us.

"my weigh is 270 lbs this one is good for me ,my husband is 220 lbs"

      • A:

My husband weighs 300 lbs & I weigh 250 lbs. This has been a good mattress for us. I purchased the queen in firm but would probably order the medium if I had it to do over again. We are both 60+ years old and have hip & shoulder pain on firm, regular mattresses.

      • A:

I'm 240lbs and hubby is 235lbs... we have no problem. My inlaws liked it so much they bought one. He is over 300lbs and she's around 220lbs and they still love it. Hope that helps.

      • A:

My husband and I are in about the same weight ranges as you and your husband although in opposite order and I'm less than 200lbs We are comfortable sleeping on our firm mattress...although my husband likes the firm mattress of ours, if I could order again I think I would order the medium because I like a little less firmness.. It is comfortable though! I hope this helps with your question.

      • A:

I'm 6'2" 230ibs, and I found the mattress to be very comfortable!

      • A:

I have no idea. You should probably not get a memory foam..they do smoosh down. I weigh 115 and it leaves a dent after a few years.

      • A:

I'm 120# husband 180#. A good alternative to a Temperpedic. Need bunky board for under the mattress. Just got it. Seems comfortable enough. Can't comment on long term use.

      • A:

I have had the 12" medium sleep solution and I think it feels pretty firm. I'm 5'6" and 135 lbs. I think the soft would have been nice as well but if I was bigger and sleeping with a large man medium would be as soft as I would go.

      • A:

Yes. I would leave it in the compressed packaging until I finished moving.

      • A:

yes that would be the easiest, when you move you will need to let it LAY flat for 2 days so it can expand. This mattress is awesome by the way I love mine.

      • A:

Considering that this is how the mattresses are stored by the manufacturer until they are sold, I don't see how it could possibly damage the mattress.

      • A:

I think u can leave it.

    • Q:

"what is the total weight and dimensions of this mattress in package"

      • A:

It comes in the shape of a rolled up blanket. Maybe 2-3 feet diameter by about 4-5 feet long. Weighs maybe 40-50 lbs but is easily dragged. I would recommend putting it on the platform or boxsprings where you will be using it and then gently cutting away the layers of plastic wrapping. As you cut away the layers of wrapping, the mattress sort of inflates it's self. Hope that's helpful. You can actually do it yourself if you can get it where you will be using it by yourself.

      • A:

In the details and specs it says it is 80 inches long by 60 inches wide by 12 inches thick. I couldn't find a weight but it can be carried or dragged to the bed area. Once you open it, it will expand so make sure to get it where you want it.

    • Q:

"Does this mattressrequire a box spring ? Tight noe it'll be on floor, need to know if I need anything under it. Thanks in advance."

      • A:

We bought this for our daughter, we did get a box spring for it, was just at her home and slept on it, very comfortable.

      • A:

No, but i have it on a platform bed frame

      • A:

Whether or not you need a box spring depends on your bed frame, not the mattress itself. If you have a platform bed or slatted bed base, it provides support for the mattress. If you have an open bed frame without a base you'll typically need a box spring to act as the surface the mattress sits on. If your mattress is on the floor instead of on a bed or bed frame, a box spring is not necessary unless you want added height.

      • A:

We placed the mattress on an existing support but it should not require one on the floor. My son actually put his on a slatted bed frame without problem, I would recommend that when you get a bed frame, that you buy at least a flat surface support to put on the slats or a solid platform bed. This would prevent uneven compression of the foam over time.

"there are 2 sleep slumber solutions 12" mattresses item #15661331 and ITEM# 15869731 they are priced differently what is the difference between them?"

      • A:

Looks like the 15661331 for $*** does not have the gel layer..it looks like it is standard memory foam. I bought the 731 model with the gel layer..love it. Has helped my back a lot. Very comfortable.

      • A:

The gel layer will keep you from getting hot in the summer.

      • A:

Item #15661331 is a traditional memory foam mattress, Item # 15869731 is a GEL memory foam mattress. Gel has more temperature regulation. I chose the gel one because I have always slept "hot" and for the past few years have had to put up with hot flashes day and night. For me, I think it helps! I also ordered a firm - I don't want to sink in too much, but still want that weightless feel and support for my troublesome lower back. I didn't realize how much my back was actually bothering me when I would get up in the morning until the first time I got up after sleeping on this mattress! I haven't experienced a better mattress and for the price - it's phenomenal! Don't waste your time and money on more expensive brands and ways to shop - I'm looking at you Sleepy's and Tempur-Pedic! My sister bought a Tempur-Pedic for a lot of money and it didn't hold up. Even if this mattress only lasts a few years, it is cheap enough to repurchase and still be way ahead!

      • A:

I forgot to mention - my sister just bought the same mattress as I bought after having slept on it.

      • A:

No clue sorry I can't remember.

I can't quote for sure but i'm 250lbs and my husband is 230lbs. We love the mattress. Have had it for a few months now. My inlaws just ordered the exact one too. My father in law is 350lbs ish and mother in law is just under 200lbs. Hope that helps.

    • Q:

"I keep thinking of questions to ask you. I apologize. Do you carry off my used mattress like other companies do? Also, do your delivery people help lift the mattress onto the bed like other Companies do?"

      • A:

It is delivered by ups or fedex, so the do not haul away. It actually comes rolled up and you would never know it was a mattress! BEST mattress I have ever owned. In fact, so awesome, I ordered one for a wedding present and now two more for my children. I am purchasing a couple at a time to put one on each of our beds. With 8 children, that will take a long time:)

      • A:

I think you need to ask customer service these questions. I am a customer, I do not work for Overstock.

      • A:

No, they do not carry the old mattress away or put the new mattress on the bed. It is delivered just like any other UPS delivery. On your porch, or wherever you would receive UPS shipments.

    • Q:

"Sorry, I also need to know the advantage of buying a 12" as opposed to a 14" mattress. We replace our mattresses about every 5-6 years. I'm wondering if we love these so much, are they going to be around that long?"

      • A:

The 14" will be more supportive, but the 12" is sufficient for many people. You may want to see if one height works better for you getting out of bed or for the aesthetic of your room. If you purchase 12", you may have room to add a topper if you choose. These mattresses come with a warranty. We can e-mail you a copy of it upon request.

      • A:

You might want to measure your current mattress depth, and consider your bed linens as you make this decision. I neglected to do that, and ordered the 14- inch one because it sounded luxurious and I didn't really think much about it. As it was on its way, I had a few more thoughts, and I measured and realized that our existing mattress is 12" thick. Our nearly-new expensive linen sheets (3 sets) and full/queen comforter fall just to the bottom of our mattress on the sides, but not much below, and the fitted sheets fit fine on the old mattress, but might not have enough extra fabric to stay put on a 14-inch deep mattress. I realized that my current linens just wouldn't be wide/deep enough to handle a 14-inch mattress. I think deep-pocket fitted sheets would be a safer bet. As a result, when the 14-inch one arrived, we did not open it but paid to return it, and ordered a 12-inch mattress instead. We had to pay to return it, but it was less expensive to do so than I'd feared, about half the price of one set of my new sheets. We are happy with the 12-inch one. My husband is just under 200 lbs., and I am about 150 lbs, if it helps to know.

    • Q:

"Do you sell the 4" platform or is that what you consider the Box Springs to be? Also, I assume you must sell the mattress cover also....is it waterproof and stain proof? I have mattress covers on all of my beds and if a 'child/adult spills a coke, for example on them, I just use a damp cloth and wipe it off. Is this the same type of cover?"

      • A:

"Does this mattress come with a cover? 47chev"

      • A:

        No it does not.

      • A:

Mine had a cover on it. I ordered and received mine in January.

      • A:

IT depends on definition. It is not exposed foam. It does have a cloth covering with zipper. However it is not for mattress protection. If you are looking for protection from spills, pets, etc, you will need to buy one separate. -P

      • A:

The only cover is the one shown in the picture. It doesn't come off. If you want protection, you should use a separate mattress cover.

      • A:

The diagram of the mattress on the website (overstock.com), shows a cutaway of the layers of the mattress ,the cover that is shown their is how it comes, gray on the sides which is kind of a vinyl/ velvet and a nice off wh Off white pattern on the top of the mattress, believe it's cotton or a cotton blend. I love my mattress and Just purchased one for my mother. She loves it
