The diacription of this item and what shows up are two different things. Item seemed cheaply constructed and would take no time on damaging it. Plus one of the hanging items came in shattered.

  • Beautiful, but ARGH!

This chandelier is the perfect style for the bedroom we are putting together. It has an elegant and glitzy style, but the love stops there! - First, the pieces shipped very quickly but two of the silver drops were broken. I just received notice from Overstock that replacement parts are on their way, so not a big deal. - Second, I decided to install it while waiting on the two silver drop rep, lacements. There were absolutely ZERO instructions for assembly, so I started by mounting the base to the ceiling mount. It's a very basic, two wire (black & white) connection and a ground wire. When I turned it on it sparked so I turned the power off, unmounted the base from the ceiling mount, and verified that my connections had not come loose. After verifying the connections were good, I re-mounted the base fixture, turned it on, and it worked fine. - Next, I began assembling the shade and crystals. Had the chandelier come with instructions I would have known to do this before mounting the base. So guess what...I unmounted the base, again, spent over an hour assembling the shade and crystals (not easy), and remounted the base to the ceiling mount. Guess what happened when I turned it on...POP! and the circuit breaker trips. - I have come to the conclusion that the fixture wiring itself is defective and have a request in to overstock for a replacement. I'm not however looking forward to putting another one together, but I least I know the order in which to do it now. I will conclude by saying I am a big fan of Overstock. I have bought many things from them in the past without disappointment, so I'm hopeful this will be turn out well.

This is a very beautiful light fixture. Installing it has been difficult, I do not know where a couple of interior crystals are supposed to attach to and the diagram is ambiguous. The silver drops are a material just a bit heavier in substance than a Christmas tree ornament and I experienced breakage but Overstocks was very responsive and sent replacements. I was thrilled with their customer service. I was getting into a new house and had many details to attend to so was very happy when the team assured me they could help in completing the project without having to sent the fixture back. This light requires a bit of patience to assemble but it is a piece that makes a statement and it will carry the style of my bedroom all on it's own. An assembly tip if you do buy - I am using the soft end of fingernail clippers to get the key chain style ring into the silver drop globe and it's working out well.
