I've bought slipcovers before but this one is the best I've seen. It's very well designed with tapes and D-rings to adjust the seat cover underneath as well as securing the base pleated part at the back of the couch. The twill is just the right weight for the job - not too light to be fragile and not too heavy to be stiff. I bought it because our cat has been throwing up on the couch and we had to keep removing and cleaning the upholstered cushions. True to form, she threw up on this the first night and so I took off the cushion cover and washed it - it came out perfectly, but as to be expected with red shades, the color did run, so wash alone when you wash. I removed the back cushions and replaced them with 5 throw pillows so now the couch is updated and looks great, plus it's easy to keep clean.
Pro: The red slipcovers are very well made and very durable. They definitely protect my couch from my dog and have a lot of coverage in them. Con: After washing a few times they developed into a dull rose color and the armrest which my husband uses to get up is even more pale.
I am thankful that Overstock publishes their negative reviews as well as positive because I almost made a huge mistake. This slipcover is actually highly rated which is why I came to Overstock.com because we wanted it in red and the price here is the best. Problem...our couch is a very square, modern style couch with no padding in the arms.. We would not be able to get the sides tucked in properly.
Having only had 1-piece draped kind of slipcovers that constantly come untucked, I never thought a slipcover could look right until I tried these. The fabric is thick and the corduroy texture is very comfortable. I covered two full size, yet different style, 15-year old sofas with the brown slipcovers. One of the sofas has two seat cushions and two non-attached pillow backs. The other has a fixed back and three cushions. Not only did the slipcover fit beautifully on both, it unified them in a way I hadn't expected. I ordered the brown with some reservation, since browns can tend towards gold/camel or red/rust. I was delighted that neither of these was the case. This brown is more taupe, definitely a true neutral that works well with both warmer or cooler color schemes. My comfortable sofas look brand-new, and the fit is as close to custom as you can get. 2016 update: Three-plus years later and still look great. They've been washed many times. Definitely the better option over throw-style slipcovers.
