This product arrived quickly and was very well packaged for delivery. The directions were easy to follow and we installed it ourselves. We purchased a vessel stand from a home improvement store that had factory drilled holes for the faucet and drain. The only additional part we needed was an inexpensive adapter to fit the flexible pipes that came with the set to our wall plumbing. Performance-wise, it works beautifully. The drain is the "pop-up" style, and has a polished finish to match the faucet. We haven't had any trouble with the water flowing over the edge of the bowl, but we aligned the faucet to direct the water down the back edge just in case. It looks like a waterfall. The bowl is made of blue glass with a gold leaf application in-between the layers of glass. The black triangles in the glass is where the layers of gold leaf don't quite overlap. It gives the sink a very artsy look, in my opinion. The blue of the glass fades toward the center of the bowl to reveal more of the yellow tones from the gold leaf application. We painted the upper half of our bathroom a sunny yellow to compliment the sink, but golds and even some greens would compliment it as well. We have harder water, but the sink looks fine. I was afraid I would have to stand over it with a bottle of glass cleaner and cloth, but I just clean it like the rest of our bathroom. I love the way this looks! It looks like working art, and is an awesome price.
We purchased this sink about two years ago and I was so impressed with the quality and look when it was installed. However, as a homeowner (and dishwasher!) I would want to point out two issues to those considering purchasing this sink. First, the remnants from the dirty dishes do not get washed easily from this particular sink, as the base is very even and care needs to be taken to wash all food particles from the four corners. Second, several spots on the sink started to show signs of wear (dark roundish discoloration) that would not come off with stainless steel cleaner or any other product I tried. That being said, I received a lot of compliments on the look of this sink, and in general I was quite pleased with it.
I am extremely pleased with this sink. When I opened the box, it was larger than I thought, but did fit nicely on a standard depth countertop (21-22 in). Installation was a breeze (you can find videos on the web). One sink required longer water lines and a standard 12 in extension did the trick. The outlet at the bottom ended higher than the older sinks (I went from undermount to vessel, so no surprise there) and I bought a replacement p-trap extension for a couple of dollars (or you can buy a matching chrome p-trap from Kräus; my drains are inside a cabinet, so plastic worked just fine). The only downside is that it is harder to keep clean if you have hard water (I do). I now wipe the sink and faucet with a cloth with a generic white or apple cider vinegar to remove any spots, then use a standard glass cleaner (e.g., Windex) to finish it off. Perhaps Softscrub or similar products would remove spots as well, but vinegar is not abrasive on the glass and works just as well. I am now considering buying two more sinks from Kräus for the Master bathroom. Great product! (and guests love them too!)
I really love my Ruvati sink! The bowl is a great size for what I use it for (prep sink/vegetable sink) and the steel grate for the bottom of the sink keeps the bowl from scratching. I also really like the food catcher basket - it doesn't let anything through, which means my pipes are cleaner than they were with my previous sink. I would highly recommend this sink for your kitchen.
