Doors are the thinner glass at 1/4"thk but that is not an issue. The doors tend to rattle when sliding them and I also don't like the plastic off white cloudy seals located at the door centers and ends of the doors. The seals doesn't really show up in the pics but it is apparent when they are up in your bathroom. The seals for whatever reason are giving a blueish tint I believe its picking it up from the ends of the glass. I ordered the nickel finish and it looks nice but the slider hardware on the top and bottom of the door are chrome and is noticeable difference in material. Also their is a frame that goes completely around the assembly so I don't get how they can advertise that these as "frameless" doors. I only purchased these doors because I needed the center opening and these are the only ones I could find without going to a custom glass installer. Price is about right for what you get and not bad. My contractor told me he had to install differently than stated in installation instructions so think things through before you start assembling. I coated the glass with Rain-X and it keeps the streaking down to a bare minimum without having to clean the glass after every shower. I would purchase again giving the lack of other options.
Make sure to get the specs (preferably have the glass arrive before you finish or start your enclosure). It is far from a true 36 x 48 - which is my only complaint. The instructions that came with mine were outdated as well. The door alignment tool doesn't come with it anymore - and would REALLY help. I used a 3/4" block on either side of the base frame, then used 5mm thick luon + a shim wedge as a bridge to get the proper height to fit the door seal. The door was a SOB to get right but worth it in the end.
The door looks great & is solid. The installation was challenging. I recommend following the direction to mark your drill holes for the shower door, then remove the hinges from the door to screw them in. It is impossible to get a straight angle to drive the screws in, every single one of the screws stripped & had to removed with vice grips scratching the finish on the hinges. Which was very disappointing detracting from the beautiful look of my otherwise beautiful new bathroom. I really like the look of the door & have ordered another for my other bathroom, but at least I know to install it differently this time. Perhaps it's review will get 5 stars.
We were looking for a nice finish to our bathroom update that didn't break the budget. After some difficulty with the first door being damaged in delivery, Overstock immediately sent out a replacement and compensated us for the trouble. The door fits well and look beautiful. I would recommend it.
