I purchased these panels to hang in my outdoor pavillion where we have our grill, table for 6, ceiling fan/light fixture -- essentially, this is an outdoor room. At night, and when we grill out and converse until late in the evening by the pool, we have a terrible time fighting flies, mosquitoes, etc. so I intented to hang these from a steel cable looped around the inside perimeter of the pavillion and be able to pull to side at each opening. These panels would have nearly fit the purpose of what I intended. However, the sides and hem are not finished. The weight of these panels are too light a lightweight mosquito netting for outdoors - however they are quite nice for indoor use or decorative use. The top edge was a nicely finished satin fabric. with tabs that extend to allow a rod run through for hanging. The color was even and rich -- I purchased the cocoa. I regret not being able to find another use for these panels, actually. Mine are going back as I have decided to use a product with a finshed edge and grommets at the top because I felt a more durable, weighted panel would be needed to hold up to the elements, my dogs running about, and stability in the breeze. I'm giving these 4 stars because the unfinished hems look quite likely to fray over time or upon washing if not handled as delicates and put in a lingerie bag.
These panels are much more attractive than in the photo. The fabric is a shimmery silver gray with white scroll flocking. The pattern is not overwhelming. I affixed them to the steel French doors in my kitchen with magnetic rods. They coordinate perfectly with my white cabinetry, stainless appliances, and grey/white/black mix granite countertops. These do not provide privacy as they are truly sheer. Their value is in the aesthetics and possibly some light filtering. They have a very expensive look and feel. I did not use the tiebacks. If you plan to use the tiebacks, you will need something to hold them. They are just pieces of hemmed matching fabric. If I decide to use the tiebacks, I will add a small strip of self-stick Velcro on each end and sew on a large decorative button just for looks. These beautiful panels would look nice in any room and with any decor style from high end elegant to very casual.
