I am IN LOVE with this rug. For a while all of the sheepskin rugs were sold out on Overstock, so when they came back I jumped on it! I wanted a sheepskin rug to put right next to my bed. The 3x5 size fits PERFECTLY. It's so so lush and soft and amazing. I don't have any pets but I make jokes that the sheepskin rug is my puppy because of how soft and cuddly it is. This is one of the best purchases I've made on Overstock - I highly recommend it if you are in the market for a sheepskin rug.

Moments after laying this rug out and admiring the appearance, I noticed a bug crawling on it. I was immediately taken aback. It's Winter in MN. I haven't seen an insect in months. Sure enough, it was a bed bug. When I began combing through the rug I came across over a dozen insect sheddings and particals. I even found a live Carpet Beetle milling about, no big deal. Within one month every wool sweater and blanket I own will likely either be eaten to shreds by Carpet Beetles or have to be burned to rid them of bed bugs. Feeling totally mortified and helpless, I reach out to Overstock.com immediately to pass along what our government would consider to be valuable environmental health information. I was asked if I would like a replacement. I inquired as to whether the replacement would be from the same location as my bed bug rug. I was informed that it was likely. I refused the replacement. I was instructed to mail the infested item back and an $18.98 return shipping fee would be assessed. That was literally the response I received. I entertained the idea that perhaps the person "assisting" me was totally unaware of what bed bugs are..and carpet beetles. I tactfully expressed my discontent and I GOT FREE SHIPPING. Fabulous. Thanks overstock.com for the free return label in order to rid the source of two totally horrendous pests brought to me, by you. Pay the other retailer's price of $1900. After you've had to replace clothing, bedding, rugs, mattresses, and pay extermination fees, you'll have saved more money than what buying this rug cheaply at Overstock.com will cost you in the end.

The Safavieh Handmade Natural Sheepskin Leanca Shag Solid Rug in white was a great purchase for the money. I will update this review once my furniture gets here and I can take a picture.

I have been buy Safavieh handmade rugs for so long that I am running out of floor! I love the quality and affordability. All Safavieh rugs are so soft and a pleasure to walk on or lay on for that matter. Simply beautiful rugs.

I bought this to lay over a chair, so my opinion is not based on actual floor use. Having said that, it is exactly what I wanted and has been really great. My only warning would be in how the rug was packaged. It came rolled in plastic and taped closed. I cut into the package and accidentally cut a small part of the the rug....it was totally my fault, I should have looked closer. Just be careful when opening!

I absolutely love this rug. It completed my formal living room. Many are saying that’s a smell but with real sheepskin that is very much expected and normal. I’ve smelled stronger at the motherland in the Middle East! Great product Safavieh never disappoints. Cream color very similar to picture there are little hints of yellow but with sheepskin you are never going to get a pure color so this works well for me. Safavieh brand never fails me.

I love these safavieh natural sheepskin products and have purchased several over the years. They are true to the description as far as quality and color. They are so soft and even machine washable.

I am very pleased with my purchase of the Safavieh Prairie Natural Pelt Sheepskin Wool Natural Beige Shag Rug. It has a beautiful natural color that is even throughout the fur. Fur strands are completely untangled and brushed out well. It is one of the softest things I own and feels great on the feet. It looks great with my other decor because of it's natural golden color. I would highly recommend this product.

I love my new rug runner! It met all my expectations. Before I placed an order, I had some idea what I want and I looked through many sites and rugs. And, finally, I found Safavieh Handmade Natural Sheepskin Leanca Shag Solid Rug at Overstock. I read many reviews and was worried if this rug will meet my needs? Some customers were disappointed with quality, smell, color, etc... But not me- this is an amazing rug: soft, gentle to my feet, perfect size, and a color identical to what is displayed on the site. I am very happy with my choice! The shipping was excellent as well. I placed my order on Sunday and received it Wednesday evening.

I love sheepskin rugs! I don't use them as rugs tho. I had a large one that I used to sleep on (til it got a bunch of dark green pills on it from the flannel sheets I was using at the time...) I used to get acupuncture twice a month, had my acu bag that went with me so I could lay on the table comfortably. It had in it a neck pillow, and a sheepskin. This sheepskin seems nice so far. Haven't gotten to use it much yet. I don't care if the natural color is the same as the natural color of other sheepskins I have - hey, it's a natural product: colors may vary... Expecting a bunch of sheepskins to all be identical to each other is just plain silly. If you want all matching sheepskins, order the large ones that have a number of skins sewn together. All THOSE sheepskins match each other: that's why they're chosen to be part of a large rug I too questioned why my sheepskin arrived packed in only the plastic bag it was rolled into. Those bags get torn easily, especially while being tossed around in cargo holds and delivery trucks! Makes me question the seller. (Too bad we can't rate the sellers on this site...or can we -???) I will update review of there is anything else that comes up with this sheepskin. Seems a nice item so far

I love this little rug! It is real sheepskin, and it's delightfully soft! I'm using it in the bathroom, and it softens up the bathroom so well. I adore this rug. So do my kids who wish the flooring in our house was covered with it. Love it. Recommend it. I would not use it as a blanket, but it would look nice draped over a chair for decoration purposes. But once I decided it would be used as a rug, it will remain as a rug. Shape as pictured is exactly as it arrives. Color is more ivory, but I like that. It's authentic. If it was too white it would appear faux, which this rug is not.

I bought the 4 x 6 size in steel blue for my boys room. They love super soft stuff and this was perfect. Thick, soft, goes great with there decor in there bunk room. I put it in front of there TV and under the bunk ladder, looks awesome and masculine. ( I wanted rug, but it had to go with all the boy stuff). It has a natural hide backing, its very thick, has long hair that does lay on its side. I bought a carding brush for sheepskin rugs on amazon. (the bamboo one, its a good size, get one thats has a 2" x 4" brush head for best results). It's like brushing a pet, so cool. Boys love laying on it watching TV and playing video games. Also they hide matchbox cars and little figures like its a jungle. LOL who knew a rug was also a toy. Great purchase. This is my second rug, I have a 5 x 8 at foot of bed under two chairs in master bedroom, adds another layer to your decor, keeps feet warm when reading. I would recommend this rug. The different sizes are different shapes, so look at photos of size and the shape it is. This is 4 pelts sewn together. You can not feel the seem. My rug did not have an odor or any type of smell. I put it down right out of packaging. My rug came rolled on a cardboard tube and completely sealed in plastic. Rug is just like the photo, same color.

Love the idea of sheepskin rug; love the brand; love O.com; HATE the smell of this rug. Came wrapped/rolled tightly in heavy duty plastic. The smell was so strong even when wrapped that it offended when it was in the car for 30 seconds (the time it took to get it out of the mailbox and drive it down to the house. I cut it open and the smell was like rotten eggs. I used to drive past a deer hide tanning factory in the Midwest. This smell is the chemical used in tanning leather--sulfuric acid compound. I hung the sheepskin rug outside to "air out". Three days later, the odor had dissipated enough to bring the rug in the house. It further "de-gassed" over the next week. Now, a month later, the smell can be detected if the skin side is held up close to the nose. It may fade away completely--eventually. I did not return the rug. I expected the smell would fade with time and it has. HOWEVER, I think that Savavieh needs to have better QC wherever their facility is that produces these hide rugs (China?). The smell at first was really atrocious. I have no way to know if this experience was a freak occurrance. The fur side, itself, is beautiful and soft with natural shading of creams, whites and subtle tans with the overall look from a distance being white. I currently have it on the foot of a bed in the guest room. The rug has degassed enough to not leave a scent in the room. I would consider ordering another rug in the future--because the look can't be imitated with a fake fur replica. I accept that the tanning of animal hides can cause an odor that will dissipate with time.

My rug arrived extremely well packaged, as all of my rugs have. I read another review where stating there was an oder. I rolled my rug out and the only smell I really noticed was the typical new rug smell that would come along with anything that had been rolled up and package for a period of time. After a day or so it was gone. I layered this rug over a jute rug I also purchased from Overstock and it looks quite lovely. I am redecorating my home and my designer very much liked the look. The backing is not very thick but perfect for that type of rug. I would not recommend this rug in a high-traffic area. While this rug will be laying in my living room, I am the only one that lives in my home. My grandaughter has been over in rolled around in it and loved it, I have fallen asleep on it with the fireplace on. With respect to shedding, I haven't noticed that to be an issue.I wish this rug came in a larger size, I have a bedroom upstairs that it would look gorgeous in. I would certainly not hesitate to re-order this rug multiple times.

Having had a sheepskin rug that someone bought me from Australia, I was looking forward to having one on each side of my bed, in a newly renovated bedroom. These rugs were a poor example of sheepskin rugs. Although the label states 100% Sheepskin, it was doubtful. The hide (leather) backing was paper thin, so thin that in some spots there were holes through to the fur. The fur and hide were bleached to an unnatural white making the rug look fake and cheap. The fur was also falling off around the edges and when given a little shake, fur started flying. I returned them!

Absolutely love this rug! Very chic and perfect for my modern and glam office. It does come with quite a strong sheepskin scent when you first unpack it, but it did reside after a few days. Great quality as usual from Safavieh!

The safavieh rug is beautiful. It is alongside a bed and so nice to step on. It will be great this winter. Color is a creamy white. It is a great price for a sheepskin rug
