  • Flimsy backs

These were very beautiful and we loved the color. Unfortunately, the backs have zero reinforcement so with just regular use they both broke within a year.

  • Very stylish, but cardboard cheap feeling!

Shown on my computer screen is a pea green, almost lime green color for these chairs. In reality, the color is a much darker green. I like the darker color OK, I just want to point this out for other shoppers. The chairs come PRE-ASSEMBLED, which is wonderful. I thought, being that they were pre-assembled, they would be of very high quality. When I got them out of the box, they were stylish and beautiful. Even my sweetheart (who hates me spending money on furniture) loved them right away. He said "These are great, maybe we should get 2 more!" I must say that with their retro style, they go wonderfully with our 1950's walnut table. (To clarify, the legs of the chairs a much darker espresso color, so the color doesn't "match" walnut, but the styles match, and I like a mix and match look, so I love it.) The problem with these chairs is the quality is NOT what you would expect. I was very disappointed to find that the back is made of a very thin piece of wood covered in fabric. It feels very cheap, like cardboard, on your back. There is no padding at all. I'm not sure if this is being retro design, or if it's just plain cheapness. At the time when I purchased this, there were no reviews at all, so I had no way of knowing about this. I thought about returning the chairs, but ... they are so adorable and look so good with the rest of our decor. So I decided to keep these 2 chairs, but get something more comfortable for the other 2 chairs at our dining table. I ordered the Matilda Red Vinyl Chairs, and couldn't be happier. The red chairs and green chairs make wonderful pops of color next to our 1950's walnut table.

I bought these chairs to match a dining room table that has a shadow box which I filled with rocks and battery operated lights. The chairs that came with the table have very high backs and are brown leather, which hides the shadow box.. The green color of this retro chair is wonderful. Great match to my other furniture. The low back height is exactly what I wanted,. Everyone raves about how pretty my dining room is. That is until they sit on the chairs, then they realize how hard the backs are. I rated two stars because the chair is of poor quality. The back is just a thin piece of wood with material covering. Absolutely not one inch of padding on backing of chair. If you noticed, they never show a side view which may have alerted to how thin chair back is. I will probably keep chairs because of the low back that allows shadow box to be seen from a distance. However, I will eventually (in the near future) have to recover chairs to add padding to back to meet my needs. I do want my dinner guests to be comfortable while sitting and not feel as if they are leaning on wooden slats. This is my first Overstock order and I am a little disappointed with the product. I do have to give thanks to Overstock customer service because I unexpectedly closed on my house the day after I ordered these chairs and they worked very hard to get these chairs re-routed to my new address. Kudos to "O" service reps. They are great.
