I was a little nervous about buying this rug (or any rug) online; the picture is so light that it was difficult for me to get a feel for the color and whether it would work in our dining room. The rug arrived and it was an INSTANT HIT! Even my husband, who rarely comments on decor, immediately raved about this rug. The large geometric design makes the rug look light, bright, and modern. It draws the eye without being busy. It gives a nice sort of visual interest to our dining room without detracting from anything. The colors are pretty true to the pictures - it's a light creamy/ivory base with a true gray trim. It brilliantly pulls together grays and browns (we have a lot of dark brown, taupe, gray, and black in our kitchen/dining room between the table, curtains, hard wood floors, and granite counter tops - and this rug just seamlessly brought it all together). I will warn you: it's light, so I would worry about spills and such if we had kids (but we don't, so I'm fine with putting it under the table). Best of all, this rug really "pops" against our dark hardwood floors. Also: it looks & feels incredibly expensive. We paid almost $*k for a similar size rug in the living room, and this looks just as good. In terms of logistics: it was easy - delivery was fast, it was pretty easy to unpack and unroll; and by "counter rolling" it and then placing a few books on the corners, I had it laying totally flat on the floor within hours. Initially, I tried to put a rug pad underneath it, but those things are a PAIN to work with, so I abandoned that idea (the rug is thick enough on its own, plus it won't be moving around since it's anchored by a dining room table). Bottom Line: this was a purchase I was highly skeptical of making online, and it ended up being my favorite thing I've purchased for our new house (and that's saying a lot).
