    • Looks beautiful and great price for 100% wool
      Verified Purchase

I really like this rug, it looks great and feels good underfoot. The Moroccan design goes well with both traditional and contemporary decor. Wool rugs, by their nature, will shed initially. The shedding has , however, been minimal and in line with other high quality wool rugs I own. The price I paid on overstock.com is truly wonderful for a rug of this quality, fiber, and design. The color is as pictured on website. Since I bought the 2'6" x 4' a rug pad is advisable to hold the rug in place. I purchased a large waffle weave pad and was able to cut it into pad for about 3 small rugs and 2 medium sized rugs. Very inexpensive that way.

    • Love my new rugs!
      Verified Purchase

Sooo pretty. Great quality and thickness. No pad required for the 8×10; it's heavy and not going anywhere. My wood parquet floors are a little slippery, so I did put slip pads under the runner and 3x5. With the latest sale, and a *** coupon from an outside coupon site, these rugs were a steal. I fell in love with this rug on another site 6 months ago, but still loved my faded peach aubussons and wasn't ready to part with them...until our 14-year-old cat decided to take exception to our extended absence last month and took it out on my rugs. With little choice, I took a chance on Overstock. The pattern is a definite pop. Be prepared to commit to a blue and white scheme. The blue is not quite navy, a few hues lighter and a few shades softer. The blue in the forefront of the 8x10 pic is dead on. Also, just FYI, don't worry about the gingham look of the underside when your rug first arrives (photo#3). It's all good:)

    • Q:

"whats the difference in Moroccan Cambridge and cam bridge Moroccan?"

      • A:

I have no idea. But its a great looking rug

    • Q:

"Is the 8 foot square really square? 8 feet on all 4 sides? In the picture it looks more rectangular."

      • A:

        Yes it is every bit

      • A:

It is indeed 8’ square. This is drop down pricing and the square rug image is on site.

    • Q:

"Does this rug require a pad?"

      • A:

No, I actually removed the padding that we had with our other rug

      • A:

I think this rug is woven so densely that a pad would be overkill and ineffective. I don't have any pad under mine and it has never moved so much as an inch when walking on it.

      • A:

Hi - We are using this rug in our dining area and do not use a pad. We do not see where a pad is needed. By the way, we love the rug....

      • A:

Hi - We use this rug in our dining area and we do not use a pad - and all seems good. Enjoy today! Anne W

      • A:

I have the rug on hardwood floors, and I chose to use a pad under the rug to keep it in place and protect the floor. I ordered the pad at the same time as I ordered the rug, so I never tried it without a pad. I always use a pad unless a piece of furniture is sitting on the rug to hold it in place.

      • A:

I don't think so. It's thick and heavy. We have furniture on it but I don't think it really needs it.

      • A:

The rug does not have a rubber backing so to keep it from moving it around you would need a no slip pad.

      • A:

No, this rug does not require a pad. I did put a pad 1/2 " because the rug will last longer. I've heard this from a friend who owns a furniture store. Frequent vacuuming also keeps a rug like new!

      • A:

hi I suppose it doesn't need one it's heavy enough to stay put but the pad provides extra cushioning & allows it to ventalate. this thing sheds an incredible amount which gets everywhere & I feel the pad helps with that too. I love this rug tho & it cleans so easily. chocolate milk didn't leave a stain & came up with just a damp cloth.

    • Q:

      "Does this rug shed?"

      • A:

It does for a while. After about 2 months of regular vacuuming, we found that it calmed down.

      • A:

Yes it sheds! Fills the vacume up, so empty each time. It's s lovely rug though:)

      • A:

Yes. Very pretty rug, but shed too much =\

      • A:

Yes. The rug sheds like crazy.

      • A:

Just a little for the first two or three times vacuuming it

      • A:

My rugs don't shed at all.

      • A:

I bought a pad for use on my hardwood floor but it's a thick rug and you could probably get by without one. I LOVE THIS RUG and bought a runner and 5' circular one for my hallway as well.

      • A:

I don't use a pad with it (whereas I do with other rugs I have). It's fairly thick and the backing is not scratchy so I don't worry about it scratching the floor. I use it in my office and don't want it too thick. Hope that helps.

      • A:

It does shed but after a while it won't. I will warn you that I bought this in two different sizes and it one of them had a very strong odor. I had to send it back.

      • A:

It sheds a lot. I have dark floors and it leaves white fluff everywhere.

      • A:

Love this rug, but as with all wool rugs - either on bare floor or on carpet - you need a pad. If they are available, it the rug is going to be on a carpet, I would try to buy a rug pad specifically for carpet. I have a dual-purpose for a different rug on carpet and It walks off the end of the pad.

      • A:

Yes. It takes about 2 months of vacuuming to stop shedding.

    • Q:

"Can I put this rug in the bathroom as a step out mat from the shower?"

      • A:

I wouldn't. It's very thick wool, and it also sheds a bit. I would be afraid that it would mold or mildew with the moisture. Also, since it's wool, it wouldn't be as easy to throw in the washer to clean it.

      • A:

I wouldn't. It's wool. It would not do well in a humid environment.... getting it wet would ruin it.

      • A:

No way. It would get moldy and your feet would get dirty from shedding.

      • A:

        I don't think it'd be a very good idea

      • A:

I wouldn't...it's a shedding rug and will be all over your bathroom each time someone steps on it

      • A:

I would definitely NOT put this in a bathroom. It is wool, as such it will not stand up to a damp environment.

      • A:

I would not recommend it either. It is a beautiful rug but it's wool content would not hold up well with moisture.

      • A:

I agree with other reviewers. The rug is great, very thick, the bathroom would be a less then ideal place as it both sheds and would hold moisture.

      • A:

I would not because of how thick it is and wool does not do well if always wet and it would take a long time to dry out.. I did buy this rug but sent it back the quality was not there for me. Picture looks better then the item. The white was more ivory.

      • A:

I would not recommend this rug for anywhere that water will be in contact. It is wool. It also will shed some, so that would be a issue with wet or damp feet.

      • A:

I agree. This is a thick rug that really shouldn't get wet. My fear is that your place will smell like wet dog with the wool. It also sheds a ton but it is beautiful and perfect in our bedroom.

      • A:

I put this rug in powder room.

      • A:

I wouldn't this is a very high-end wool carpet. Mine does not shed and is absolutely beautiful

      • A:

I would not - I agree with what Karen B. says about it, it sheds and it is too thick for a bathroom - it wouldn't clean well.

India is the listed origin on the rug backing.

      • A:

    • Q:

"What are the exact colors or what are the pantone colors and the scale of the pattern?"

      • A:

Sorry, while I don't have the Pantone I can tell you it's a very true blue under the cream overtone. One reviewer said this rug was more beige than blue...don't agree at all. This is a big bold print that works well in a neutral room. It's a statement for sure so if you're shy I'd "shy away"....we love it.

      • A:

It's a very bold rug....mine is a slate blue with creme...the circles are about a foot in diameter. My only concern is that the color could clash with other upholstered furniture if you aren't careful. I have an adjoining room with a carpet that has golden green tones and they don't complement eachother. I did a work around to make it ok..... another positive note is that because it is bold it will brighten up a dark room...

      • A:

The scale of the pattern changes with the size of the rug. This background is a navy color with an ivory design.

      • A:

It's the nicest, most plush, most well made, softest rug that I've ever bought. I only needed a small area to go under my treadmill. I haven't placed the rug there because it's too nice and too beautiful to cover up.

"How big is the rugg in the actual picture? For 45.88 is it a normal size living room area rug or a small rug that's goes in front of a stove or door?"

      • A:

Great rug and quite big For that space and size i think it wiuld be perfect and definetly make a statement for your lr

      • A:

I gave this beautiful rug as a gift. I do not remember the exact size I purchased. The intended use was in a dining area under a small table that easily seats six. Based on the scale, the seating and the actual space, the rug needed to be at least 64 sq. ft. They loved it and it was perfect for their space. Good luck.

      • A:

I have the rug in the center of my living room. It is definitely a living room sized rug. It is beautiful and looks great on a hard wood floor.

      • A:

    • Q:

"Is one of the pictures shown of the 3x5 or 4x6?"

      • A:

4x6 Very nice and rug wears well A nice addition to any room

    • Q:

      "Is the rug washable?"

      • A:

Perhaps with a spray/dry/vacuum system. I don't think one that was wet mopped or a carpet cleaner would be a good option in that it is wool ( to the best of my recollection) and the hot water might permit color fading or shrinking. I suppose a dry cleaners chemical process might be an option. So yes, I believe it cleanable, just not easily. The tag on the back sometimes addresses the manufacturers recommendations. Good luck!

      • A:

I highly doubt it. I use resolve spray and then vacuum. However, the materials in this rug "shed" a lot. We have this carpet on top of hardwood floors in the foyer and it looks like there are either dog hair or cat hair all over the hardwood floor. I am constantly vacuuming the rug and the floors. Personally, I will never buy this type of rug again as just too much work.

      • A:

I would not wash this rug-- just vacum

      • A:

I will say no. The dark blue bleeds quite easily on the lighter color. We just used stain remover on a spot and the rug is now ruined.

    • Q:

"How much and for long did this rug shed?"

      • A:

It sheds a lot and is still shedding. Bought them late last year.

      • A:

I bought it for a vacation home so it doesn't see much use. I feel it's shedding is no worse than any higher pile rug. It is beautiful and looks far more expensive than it actually costs.

      • A:

I haven't opened mine yet but am glad to know there's a potential "shedding" issue. I won't be surprised or disappointed.

      • A:

It doesn't stop shedding. It's a lot but it's in our formal living room which hardly ever gets used so it's ok. Vacuum fills to the top with its fibers every time. Sometimes I have to empty it half way through and it fills up again. It's a beautiful rug but wouldn't recommend it for high traffic areas.

      • A:

I think it depends on the traffic. I bought mine maybe 8 months ago and while it was in a high traffic area (in front of the living room couch where dogs and kids and people frequent) I vacuum it a lot. 2 months ago I moved it into my office and it looks fantastic - very little shedding (very little foot traffic and dogs and kids and stuff). It really is a beautiful, heavy wool rug and convinced me to buy several more form the line.

      • A:

Seriously, My rug has never shed. Get compliments on it all the time.

      • A:

I have mine in my foyer which is high traffic and don't feel like the shedding is terrible. Maybe a month it's annoying but I vacuum almost daily. I use a battery operated vac daily and then once a week I use my big Electrolux with the beater brush and that really makes it look nice. HOWEVER it is not white like it is pictured. It is ivory in color. I wasn't sure at first but it's grown on me. As someone mentioned above....it's quality far exceeds its price. Which is hard to come by. I have pottery barn, Serena and lily and Ballard rugs and the one people always comment on is of course this one :)

      • A:

Been busy, have not had time to unwrap,in the middle of spring cleaning

      • A:

I guess it depends on how much wear the rug is getting. Mine isn't in a high traffic area and really doesn't shed all that much. Initially there was some as expected, but my rug is fine now. I'm very pleased with the purchase.

      • A:

        No shedding noticed

      • A:

MY rug has not shed at all I got it in March and have had it down since then with no shedding

      • A:

Mine is still shedding after two months. I love it though!

      • A:

I've had about five months, shed a lot first few months, but noticeable less lately, however, we have the 8" runner in bedroom, so not a lot of foot traffic, the rug is more of a dark colonial blue .& cream, not navy but actually looks good as bedding, etc is navy, I like it.

      • A:

After 4 months in a high traffic area ( mine is a runner in a hallway), it has not shed even a bit. I love the blue and white that reminds me of Chinese tea cups. Very pretty rug.

      • A:

It doesn't shed that much. I have 2 of them. One by the front door and one under the dining room table.

      • A:

        Still shedding a year later!

      • A:

My rug never sheds. It may make a difference in the size of the rug. My rug isn't real big. KC

      • A:

A LOT!!!!!! It looks like we have a house full of cat and dog hair. So I would seriously check out other rugs that do not have these type of materials in them.
