We shopped area rugs in Houston, TX at various locations. Prices varied from around $6.5K in the regular furniture stores like Gallery Furniture or High Fashion to around $3K in various import and wholesale warehouses along Harwin Dr. Most of the cheaper imports were from China (for wool rugs) or from Turkey and the Middle East (for synthetic materials). Everything seemed extremely overpriced, and the selection was limited and difficult to browse. We were shopping for 3 large rugs and hoped that this would give us some negotiating leverage and a substantial discount, but none of these hopes materialized. Only one Chinese salesman was willing to give us a 10% discount on a 6K order. The sticker shock made us try searching online and this is how we came upon the rugs at Overstock.com. We were apprehensive about buying a rug without having seen or touched it in person but after seeing and feeling so many other rugs in the furniture stores we were more comfortable with the rug terminology (e.g. hand-tuffed, etc.) and hence a bit more inclined to rely on the online description. We ordered 3 large rugs for the price of 1 small rug from the furniture store and today we received the first one via Fedex ground. It was delivered to our front porch, nicely packaged and clean. On first look the product looks amazing. It is thick, good quality wool, premium quality compared to what we saw selling for 6K or more in the retail stores. The colors look good, the material is excellent. In the interest of full disclosure, the colors do look slightly more muted than in the online picture, but I actually like it more this way. I hope the rest of our order turns out to be just as successful. If it does, Overstock.com will certainly be #1 on our list for future purchases of area rugs. I will post updates, but at this point we are happy customers.

I took a shot and bought the 10'x14' foot rug for my living room area as I was attracted to the pattern. I am happy that I did. It arrived well packaged and it was everything that I expected it to be based off of the product description and based off of the images provided. For those unsure about whether or not this color shows more navy or more cream color, I will say that this larger sized (10 footx14 foot) rug shows about equal parts of navy color and cream color. FYI, I also purchased 2 smaller runners in the same pattern and in the same color and I noticed that the white/cream color is much more prominent in the smaller sizes versus the larger patterned rug. Also, the color is definitely a cream/off-white color. It is not white. It is very sturdy, and well made. IT is also VERY HEAVY; it weighs approximately 91 lbs! It was a workout, unpacking, unraveling, and situating this rug in my living room (-I needed some help moving it and adjusting it), but it looks terrific and was worth the struggle.

I love the rug and it works perfectly in my living room. The ivory was perfect for my off-white sofas and brightens up an otherwise dark room. The pattern is beautiful and the rug is plush. One thing I will note that others mentioned is that its not really a "navy" blue but more of a "slate" blue. It's not bright in color by any means, but not a rich blue like it appears in the photos. It works for me anyway although I may have to mute my pillows a bit. The other thing worth noting, is that with many wool rugs, this rug sheds profusely upon initial receipt. We vaccummed the rug in full about 10 times with 2 different vaccuums and filled the canister about every 2-3 minutes. Our entire regular size kitchen garbage can was filled from bottom to top when we were done. There were still fibers coming up but we figured we would stop and just do it a few more times over the next few days. Because of this I would recommend the rug for a lower traffic area like under a bed, dining room table, or formal living room. This is not good for a playroom where children spend time on the floor or for an entryway that is used daily. I love the rug and I am keeping it but I am aware it is going to require upkeep to avoid a sheep from growing in my living room.

This is a beautiful rug! The ivory pattern is tufted and the gray background is hooked, giving it a 3 dimensional effect. The graphic pattern is very modern and classic all at the same time. The gray is a bluish gray, not a dull flat gray. The rug is very well made and is worth twice the price. This all being said, I'm returning it because it just doesn't match with the room we were going to use it in, but it certainly is a beautiful rug.

The Cambridge Moroccan Silver/Ivory rug looks beautiful in our family room. Great quality and very nice colors. Looks great with our furniture.

It's a very nice rug but the print is much larger than shown in the picture. I order the 5 x 8 but I think the picture is from a larger version of the rug. For this size there are only 4 circles across and 6 circles down. It looks really nice and seems to be pretty good quality but it is not as shown.

I initially purchased this rug for my living room, but will need to find another location for it because it is more bold than I initially thought. It doesn't seem like much of a difference, but the ivory is the predominant color, rather than the black, giving it a more bold appearance than I expected. This is enhanced because the ivory in the pattern is slightly raised compared to the black background. It is still a wonderful pattern and it feels soft and thick. Overall it has a look that is a cross between modern and exotic. If it is placed in a room with mostly neutral tones (for the floor, furniture, and paint) it will blend in better, but if the room has more color the rug will be a focal point rather than blending in. My living room has red oak wood floors and the furniture is mostly red tones and this rug stands out too boldly. However, my den has a light tile, beige walls, and tan furniture and the rug looks much more muted and blends in better. It is a beautiful rug, but different from what I expected in the photos.

This rug is very beautiful, unfortunately I had to return because it had some pink yarns woven in here and there. I purchased another of the same pattern (Cambridge Moroccan Silver) and it is perfect.

I use this small rug on the first landing to my staircase. It’s the perfect size, and since I allow no shoes inside my house, the rug stays reasonably clean. It’s a sculpted rug, and the white designs rise higher than the blue. I’ve never experienced this before in my life, but something about the sculpting and design massages my feet as I walk on this and the three other matching rugs I bought. These rugs really are a delight to walk on...something I’ve never said about any other rug before. Besides being really beautiful and striking, they seem to be very well made, easy to vacuum, in spite of the sculpting, and get rave comments from all my guests. You really should buy one and try it for yourself. I work standing all day long, and these rugs gently work out the ache in my feet and toes...something I never expected from an area rug. I have an existing 9 X 12 Persian style rug that’s just about due for replacement, and guess what I intend to buy? I place these over wall-to-wall carpeting, so they have a lot of depth and resilience, which may lend to the massaging experience. They are about 1/2 inch thick, lay flat, the corners do not curl up, and they stay in one place, instead of migrating towards the wall after typical usage. I use no carpet tape, tacks, Velcro or other device to keep my rugs in place...they just stay put on their own, something else I’ve not experienced before. The design is organic, not machine made precision, so each medallion is slightly different, and adds natural charm to any room. If you like mathematical precision in your rugs, these will not satisfy you, but if you enjoy the tiny quirks and subtle nuances common in nature and in life, you’ll love these rugs. I don’t think I’ve ever thought so much nor had so much to say about a rug before...that’s a first too.

beautiful rug - silver looks a little blue but it's very pretty

This rug was absolutely perfect. Ordered 11x15 it's a big rug. Fit perfectly under 10 ft diningroom table with 8 chairs. It's very hard to find this size. The colors are beautiful and quality superb. Love it!! I'm so happy

I purchased this for our finished basement. I was looking for something thick and durable, with cream, but with a bit of color, too. I'm so glad I found this one. It looks different form different angles, which makes it even more appealing. I did buy a rug pad for underneath it, which adds to the thick feeling and also keeps the rug in place. I love it so much, I may get another one for my bedroom.

Way better quality than I was expecting. Truly ivory colored & not off white or beige. It really grounds the room & has a rich feel under my feet. I haven't finished putting together my room but here's a photo. Don't hesitate to purchase this rug.

This rug is definitely plush and gorgeous as most other reviewers noted. It looks absolutely amazing in our newly painted dining room (red walls). However, I am incredibly disappointed in the quality - I expected the shedding based on the other reviewers comments, which is a bummer, but manageable, but there a lots and lots of pulls in it after only a few weeks of having it! Our dining room is not a high traffic area and our vacuum is has a special setting so that it won't create pulls on higher pile rugs (and we never had a problem with our previous area rug that we had for 10+ years!). I'm so bummed. Really love this rug, but quality is not what I had hoped for.

I got the round for my entry way- it sheds a bit, but holding h up well and makes a beautiful statement as visitors come in the front door

I was very disappointed with this purchase. The white fabric had a lot of dark fibers in it. And it also had a little bit of a hole. The pattern is lovely though. I ended up returning it.

Love this rug. It looks great and the high low texture is awesome. Sure it will wear very well. It also looks expensive. Highly recommend.

This rug is beautiful. I absolutely love it. I ordered a the light great. The sculpting and thickness feel nice on the feet. It does shed a bit, but after a few times of vacuuming it the shedding was gone

These rugs were striking online, and even more so in person! They are good quality wool, and I only wish I’d have purchased larger ones. Love them!

This is an incredible bargain for the item! It's thick, comfy pile, beautiful coloring, absolutely love this rug! I will most likely purchase again, and put in another room. It's easy to maintain, and the wool makes it easy to clean up spills--4 kids, 2 dogs, lots of dirt. Highly recommend!

I have this rug in many colors and sizes. I absolutely love the cushioning, and detail. It's really beautiful. I will say it sheds a lot at the beginning but after awhile it stops. I recieve s many compliments on this rug. It really is beautiful

This rug is GORGEOUS. I purchased a square rug. It is very durable thus far and absolutely perfect for the space. It looks very expensive as well. LOVE LOVE LOVE.
