Love the look. Smell is a bit strong hoping it goes away in a few days. A bit darker than the pictures. While this jute is not scratchy the knots are a bit uncomfortable to stand on. Works for my dining room but would not want for a living room. Some of the knots need tightened and tucked upon arrival.

I am always happy with a Safavieh rug. It was as I expected and had only wished it came in a 5.5' length. It did not have the usual wonky fiber rug smell and it will probably shed a bit as it is a natural fiber rug. I could not be happier with the rug.

Excellent Jute Rug
We love the look of this jute rug which fits perfectly in front of our kitchen sink. It is very soft, yet substantial. You will definitely need a rug pad to keep this rug in place, and like all natural jute rugs, it does have some sand that comes out of it. We are very pleased with this purchase, and have ordered additional jute rugs for other places in our home.

The rug has a beautiful coloring. There are slight shades of gray mixed in with the natural jute color. The rug is not super soft as others have mentioned in reviews. If you are used to plush carpets, this will not feel great under your feet. The knots seem larger in person than in the picture as well. This is going under our bed, so walking comfort was not a big deal for us. We bought this small rug first to see if we would like it due to the cost of shipping the larger ones back if they don't work out. I liked it so much that we are purchasing the 8x10.

Very thick and natural looking. This rug is not super soft, but more like stepping over somewhat soft dried hay. It will have a straw like smell that dissipates after you air it out. It will be dusty when you lay it down, so it does require vacuum cleaning prior to use. You will also need to trim off any loose fibers as it is a natural product, otherwise it is quite lovely & I am very happy with my purchase. Loved it so much I purchased 2 more similar rugs.

Love the natural fiber rug. The pattern is very pretty, as well. The non-slip pad is highly recommended. Mine are on hardwood floors and with the pad, they are very secure.

This rug is super heavy and made very well. There is a smell from the natural materials used but I don't mind it. My husband thinks it smells like mold. That being said, this rug is beautiful. It has a few snags on it and I was considering exchanging it but its huge and heavy and would be a pain. Feels great on the feet.

We bought this to match an IKEA jute rug we have in our dining room. Honestly this one is so much better (thicker, chunkier knots, less "jute-y" smell) I may have to replace the IKEA one with the bigger version of the Safavieh. Everybody comments on how cool it is, and since we placed it as a runner in front of the kitchen sink I've noticed it's really good and absorbing (and disappearing) the occasional spill. Get a non-skid thin pad, this does NOT need a thick rug pad.

Love this rug BUT....
The binding around the edge has an oily/ dirty look to it. I've tried cleaning it but it still looks like I've had it down for years. Too big to send back so guess I'm stuck with it. Sad that it was shipped like that and you cannot tell until you completely unroll it!

This rug is beautiful to look at however, it has drops a TERRIBLE dust and sheds all over. I have had to vacuum and sweep more than 3 times per day. So disappointed!

Rug is very heavy well made. The texture seems rough at first and softens fairly quick, the bumps feel like a foot massager. It's very thick and cushiony. Love love love it!

Accurate color, nice chunky weave which will stretch and become misshapen with heavy use. Little bit of a musty odor and woven end pieces tend to come loose and pop out which still happens with woven sisal rugs 3x the price. Great for light duty in a no shoe household and inexpensive enough to replace.

The rug arrived on time, the color was as shown above, and there was none of the odor reported by other reviewers. My only complaint about it was that it was smaller than advertised. I bought the 8 x 10, but received a 7'7" x 10' rug. Consequently, I had to cut down the Mohawk rug pad. Other than the size issue, this Safavieh rug is an excellent buy and I would recommend it to a friend.

In the case of a stain, natural fiber rugs can be scrubbed with a soft brush, but avoid getting these rugs too wet, as water can weaken the fibers over time.
