I really like this etagere. I have seen it listed for sale on other sites at a much higher price. It is sturdy and very nice looking.

The wood shelves are pretty rough, but look nice. There were 2 dents in the metal poles. I like the design.

  • beautiful piece

I needed extra storage and a place for a small microwave in my kitchen. This piece fits the need just perfectly. My husband and I assembled it in about twenty minutes. My suggestion is to leave the screws a little loose until you have them all started, this will give a bit of play to align the predrilled holes.

  • Hmmmm.......
    Verified Purchase

I fell in love with this item on the site and had to have it. I debated a couple of days and finally purchased it. It took about a day and a half to ship (wow). The first thing I noticed about this item when I unpacked it was the packing Styrofoam.......it was so bad, it was stuck to the tape and worse when I opened it (have a vacuum ready). Then came the smell of the wood. It must be the varnish or stain. My whole house reeks of this. Well, as I unpacked further, I noticed some of the shelves were cracked. Four to be exact, not just small cracks either, but you can't really see them. I could deal with that. As I started assembling this item, I noticed that as I tightened the screws into the wood, It cracked the wood above the screws, on top of the shelf. The screws were too long. I had to go to the hardware store to purchase new screws to finish assembly (silver colored screws). Wow, besides the smell, cracks and the screws..........It looks great. If you get frustrated easily, it's not for you. I don't think I'd have paid the money for this quality if I'd have know all of this. And.......I thought it would be near impossible to repack this item after assembling and unassembling it to return it. So I left it where it was intended to go.

  • Great piece - BUT
    Verified Purchase

This is a really great piece - perfect size (so many other shelves we looked at are way too short and don't make good use of space). The shelf on top really fully maximizes space well. The wood finish is a nice, antique-y color, the twist in the metal adds nice detail. The two different depths on shelving makes it more versatile and the middle shelf can actually be like a work surface. We put it in our laundry room with baskets and decorative fabric cube boxes to dramatically improve organization. HOWEVER - the holes drilled in the shelving have metal anchors to assemble and secure the shelving screws and they were not correctly lined up. My husband and I are very handy and have a lot of tools and were able to make it work. I do not think a majority of people could have done it and would have been forced to exchange it. If we had not been able to work it out, I would have asked for an exchange rather than a straight return because the piece is nice and worth it. Once you are ready to re-organize, though, you don't want to wait. The piece looks like it might be heavier than it is. The metal is lightweight (not flimsy), which is actually an advantage because you can move it if need be, even with items on the shelves. In all, it is great to look at - just not so much on the putting together. You put it together once, though, and look it a long time...so, depends on if you are willing to go through a little of assembly pain to have it in your home.
