Safavieh Athens Shag Ilaha Solid Rug

I love this rug!! I use have it under the bed in the master bedroom. I am very happy with the plushness and softness and the color of this rug!! Exactly what I was looking for!

LOVE THIS RUG. The fibers have mixed white colors varying from a bright white to a barely off-white, and the fibers themselves lend themselves to a casual decor. Definitely not for formal areas. Works well in our beach house. It is shown here under a trundle bed, so we can pull out the entire trundle and it still fits on the 6' x 9' rug. I have the back legs of the trundle bed hanging off of the area rug, on the hardwood floor, which is fine since it is the back. I did not want a larger rug because it would then breach my "walkway" in between two separate area rugs. This area rug is perfect in my bonus room. The color is great and I love the length of the shag. I would definitely recommend this Safavieh Athens Shag Seafoam Area Rug. 5 star rating.

I chose this rug because I have two dogs that shed and prefer to play on the living room rug rather than sliding across the tile and into the walls. Needless to say, this is rough on the rug so I chose to go with a "cheap" rug this time instead of another wool rug that I would have to throw out after a year or so. The rug arrived on time and even though I was initially appalled at the way it was packaged (folded!!!) the creases are nearly gone after a week on the floor. The shaggy pile hides dirt and dog hair yet doesn't cause the dogs to get their claws stuck when they are playing. The rug arrived on time and in perfect condition. The thickness and density are what you would expect from a rug this size under *** but with a thick rug pad it is quite nice underfoot. The color is brighter than the photo as many have said but it is not garish. It is a pretty, dark seafoamy-aqua. Do not expect a light, washed-out seafoam color. The edges are even and bound well. It is not shedding excessively nor is there an odor. You will be hard pressed to find a better rug for the price in this large size.

At this price point ,this is an excellent rug. Beautiful color and holds up well (after a couple thorough vacuums the shag "comes to life") . Sure, it's not plush ,but it's also inexpensive for an 8x10 rug, if you want a plush rug you'll pay for it. I originally bought this for our new home as a rug to please the dog and tie the room together until I found the "perfect " rug, prepared to spend much more for a nicer rug-however, I like this one enough to buy a rug pad and use this one! Don't let the bad reviews discourage you - BEAUTIFUL color, the fibers are a LITTLE scratchy (but hey.thats a style people!) ,it's not plush (but a quality carpet pad can fix that!) and you can't beat the PRICE! I would recommend!

Rug looks exactly as pictured. I wanted to wait until it arrived before deciding if it needed a rug pad, and it definitely does, it's very slippery on my hardwood floors and the backing is thin. I plan to get the double sided felt pad, which should make the rug pretty cushy. The bound edges are narrow, I'd prefer if they were a teeny bit wider. Overall, it's priced right and looks good.

The color is seafoam, but it looks very turquoise blue. I love the quality of the Calif.Cozy shag, which I previously purchased. I expected the Athens shag to be the same. The Athens shag backing is not as strong, and I feel will "bunch up". If the color would have been to my liking, I would keep it however. The carpet itself is nice and thick....

First of all this is not beige. It is more of a light brown or taupe. Runner is on right of photo and an old beige rug I had is on left. It is not a soft rug and I'm only keeping because of hassle to return. I do not plan on buying this brand ever again.

Would give it five stars, but it had something crunchy stuck in one corner (hoping it was just dirt!) It came off so its OK now but yea, kind of gross!

Holding up great. It's in our TV room. It's almost a year old and looks new even with our German Shepherd lounging all over it!

I wanted a plain rug with some texture for the living room so that it wouldn't clash with my paisley loveseat. This is perfect. The first one arrived with damaged wrapping, so the edges were dirty. But a helpful customer service rep arranged for pickup and replacement, and the new one came in perfect condition. After rolling it out and vacuuming it, it fluffed up and looks great. Would definitely shop Overstock again.

I was looking for a comfy rug for my movie room that people could lay or sit on in comfort. Looking at the photos on the site this appeared to be what we were looking for. Upon unraveling and putting this down under my furniture it’s almost like sitting on the bare floor. Not what we wanted at all but we’ve already unsealed it and put it down so returning it was not really an option. Total waste of my money.

This rug is very soft on the feet. It does have a bi-color appearance due to the way the pile is laying so the appearance isn’t the solid gray I was expecting but I do love the rug- the back isn’t as rough as some rugs I’ve purchased- I placed over the rug pad for extra cushion. I’m very pleased with the purchase- it arrived fast and was well packaged

We love this rug! So cute and really soft! This was the only rug i could find that was the perfect pink color online, so I was nervous to order since shades of pink vary, but this was true to what we saw on the website and it matches perfectly!
