the color is a little darker than I expected but it holds up well against the animals in my house. Even though, I find it a bit darker than I thought it would was I still love the colors in the carpet and the pile is lush.

I bought this rug a little over a year ago and the instructions did say that it would shed for a short while. I have lost my patience. I have to vacuum it every day and still it looks like dirty dingleberries. I keep vacuuming and hoping that this will be the day that it finally runs out of extra materials but every day is the same. I'm ashamed if someone happens by before I've done my daily purge.
Recently I've purchased quite a few of safavieh rugs all to my great satisfaction. They've each been lovely, great patterns colors, thickness and durable. A pleasure to walk on.

I read the reviews that warned about shedding. I ignored them because I wanted a giant cheap wool rug, and it sounded like there was about a 50/50 chance I'd receive a non-shedder. No such luck. As soon as we unrolled it we noticed a damp sheep smell that still hangs around almost a year later, and the fuzz that comes off of this thing is ridiculous. It doesn't matter what type of vacuum you use, it is going to fill it so fast you'll be surprised it doesn't have bald spots. And it isn't just normal rug fuzz fibers-tiny particles from it settle like dust all over the house. I haven't replaced it yet because I can't find anything similar in the same size that isn't Safavieh. All I can think is it was stored improperly at some point after it was manufactured, and is now decomposing slowly in my living room. Definitely would not recommend, and I imagine returning it would cost more than the original purchase price. So cheers to my new pet rug I have to clean up after daily.
Hello, I has an odor, an old smell, hopefully once it air out the smell well go away and hopefully it will lay flat. Ms. Weaver
