I was surprised to see that many new rugs are made to look old and distressed. To tell the truth, I like this because I grew up among collectible oriental/Persian rugs, so I'm sentimental. But would the technique be evocative or cheesy?? I have to say that this rug exceeded my highest hopes! I won't be passing it off as an antique, but I'll bet I COULD. It is very soft underfoot, and the artificial "distressing" looks pretty convincing. But what I love most is that it looks like it has ALWAYS been in my house; it needs no breaking in! Oh...and my CATS love it. The rug sits in front of our hearth.
I own several oriental rugs, none any finer than this one. It S plush, has a great feel and is very thick. It gives o a fair amount of fluff when vacuumed, but I can see it beginning to lessen after several vacuumings. I loved it so much, I ordered others in various shapes and sizes. I highly recommend this rug.
Purchased this rug for my eat in kitchen space. Works well, and meets our needs. Easy to spot clean, and inexpensive enough not to worry about spills. Not a high end oriental, but so worth the money.
