Received the Safavieh Wool Rug in perfect condition. The color is more beige/brown rather than white/black. It goes well with our hardwood floor. If you're looking for white/black...this is not the color.
While this rug is perfectly fine for the right environment design, color story of the room, etc., it wasn't right for mine. Sometimes, especially online purchases, one has to buy it to see how or if it works, then return it if it doesn't. The price reflects that the thickness and overall color palette aren't, say, that of the more expensive and richness of the Handmade Persian Legend Blue/Gold New Zealand Wool Rug. But, for the money and if the color story works for your space, this would be a good buy, great value.
All Safavieh rugs of New Zealand wool are well made and attractive. This burst pattern is very unusual but eye catching. The white bursts are white and silver and constructed of a ribbon fabric wound into the wool making the rug almost three dimensional. I was looking for a plush thick striking rug for under a glass dining table and this is more than perfect. I now own four Safavieh wools and have never regretted my purchases especially at Overstock's pricing.
This is a beautiful run for my study. The background color is a little more intense than shown. The walls in the room are painted Benjamin Moore's Stratton Blue, and the rug is an excellent match for it. The larger flower is a little browner and less green than shown, and the smallest flower is a less yellow taupe than it appears on my screen. The world is dense, and after more than a week, there's been very little shedding (unlike other Safavieh New Zealand wool rugs in our home, some of which are still shedding quite a bit after several weeks of frequent vacuuming). This rug arrived within a few days of ordering. It was sturdily packaged and lay flat within about 4 days of being unrolled onto the floor.
