When this rug first arrived I thought, "it's a blanket". It is VERY thin, so don't be surprised. The colors are a bit more earthy/muted than they look on my monitor, but I discovered that by turning it over the colors are perfect for my needs (flipping it brings out more dark blues and cuts out the more intense brick red sections). Bottom line: It looks great flipped, and I'm very happy. There is sparse, short cotton fringe on the edges - this doesn't bother me, I actually prefer it to long fringe. You will need a rug pad: as I said, it is very thin and will slide around without some sort of under-layer. A nice rug that could compliment a variety of decorating styles.
I love this rug and have received several compliments on it and I've owned it for over a year. The colors are as pictured with subtle woven variations of tan, beige, grey, ivory, and soft brown. I haven't had any major spills, but it does seem to hide the everyday wear and tear. The natural fibers are soft and it looks like a nicely textured wool. I would recommend using a good quality rug pad with a little depth to it, to counter that fact that it's not very thick. I love the fringe on two sides and it's neutral enough in color and pattern to go with everything and looks so much more expensive than it is.
