This rug is depicted and described perfectly! If you have any questions about monitor color I have found the written color descriptions to be accurate. This is a machine woven rug, that will only look it to someone who is familiar with the differences. It is beautiful and very well made, besides, you will not get hand knotted quality in this price range. However, if you are looking for a tightly woven beautiful texture, with minimal to no shedding, than this is the rug. The ivory is a true ivory and the black is deep and rich, The contrast in the pattern with the deep red, wheat gold and light sage is excellent. I purchased this for my kitchen, and did not want an expensive hand knotted rug for that space. I am very pleased! I have a great looking rug and I won't have to nag my teenagers not to spill. It arrived well packaged and unrolled easily. There was no smell and it took only a couple of hours for gravity to lay it flat. Read the reviews and read the descriptions, you won't be disappointed.
Although I prefer hand-knotted rugs, this is just perfect for my kitchen and the type of traffic it will get. I liked the price, and I like the colors as they work with other rugs I have in adjacent rooms as well as the room it is in.
Have had this rug for almost 3 years. Looks great. only issue is, since this is hand tufted , and not "knotted", this means they coat the bottom with a glue . After 3 years when we moved the rug, or floor was covered in a white sand like substance . Researched it, and found out that over time the glue starts shedding. Other than that still a good rug, but won't buy hand tufted again.
A unique and beautiful rug, however be prepared for many loop issues. Some wayward loops could be worked back into the rug, some long strands could be cut and re-knotted and some just have to be lived with. The cardboard tubing that the rug was shipped in broke all apart in transit and the rug was fairly rumpled upon unfurling. The rug definitely has a smell. Ours has been airing out for about 5 days now in a protected outdoor space. I am assuming the smell will eventually fade. I was worried about its ability to be vacuumed but it could be, which is good because it sheds a lot. Was covered in jute strands from crawling around on it. Due to the large loop construction "crud" (prior to shipping) had gotten lodged down between the loops . For some reason we found lots small straw-like shreds that we had to hand-pick out. The color of the rug is portrayed accurately in the pictures. It has a lighter yellowy-burlap tone --pretty close to regular jute color but not quite. The border is quite wide, and attractive, and the loops are about the size of the tip of your big thumb. Customer service, although exceedingly friendly, were not ultimately able to help me in the replacement of this rug (out of stock) so I was left with a a tough decision as they were only able to offer a 10% discount due to its damage. Verrry disappointed.
