I love the style and look of this lamp. It was true to size and the linen shade adds a textile aspect in contrast to the elegant silver. I would note that the lamp base is painted solid silver NOT the way it is depicted in the picture on the website. That shows a lamp that is 3/4 white and the upper third is the solid silver. In actual fact the entire lamp body is painted silver. I thought the picture was different and purchased this thinking it would be dual white/silver. It is lovely in silver so I am still happy with it but since my room was white, grey carpet and silver I thought the two tone aspect would have been interesting to try. You won't be unhappy with this but Overstock really needs to update the picture so as not to set expectations of a 2 tone lamp base with the customer.

This lamp arrived very quickly. I had been looking for something to add some sparkle to a very traditional living room that needed some more transitional pieces. This fit the bill almost perfectly. The height is exactly right. I will say the base itself is fatter in proportion to the height than I thought from the picture. The base is a silver finish ceramic, not a mercury glass look if that is what you are going for. The shade is what makes this lamp special. Usually you get a paper shade or an inexpensive silk look that never really looks like silk. This has a nice linen fabric mounted over a paper form so it has nice structure, but a genuine fabric look. The shade is a slightly blue grey which is very neutral. A great purchase for the value. Don't think the fabric shade will not give off light. It takes a 150W bulb and even with the 100W i put in it gives off enough light to read in my favorite chair.
