This chair passed my fussy inspection. Its nice looking and appears well made top and bottom, The dimensions stated are correct, as I used them and I had only 2 inches to spare. it worked. It is darkish brown with raisin -cordovan modelling in bright light. it looks much like the pic. I got it for a very small space in a small apt. I wanted a classic look, not the huge monster look of many recliners. THAT SAID, While it has a good high back and one can fully recline and rest your head, the foot rest as you can see in the photo is a bit thin and short.( but needs to be for the 'club chair' look. ) I plan to make a heavily padded pillow on a thin board to place there for better reclining and just slip it underneath the chair otherwise. This chair will fit small to medium tall folks, Id estimate up to 6'2" and perhaps 185 lbs. or a lady to size 16. It is narrow, but deep enough in the seat and tall enough in the back, well padded and nice looking. the reclining MECHANISM WORKS EASILY but iS not heavy duty...SO 200+ LB FOLKS BE-WARE. iT WAS EASY TO put together, the only pointer being to rest a cardboard box under the top side , when it is laid on its side , to SLIDE the decorative upper side panels on the opposite 'shoulder'.. you need to push down while sliding the panels on, and the box will keep the whole thing level while you do so. Otherwise its rather hard to do. BE AWARE..that the tidy size , and clean look, requires that this is NOT a 'dream-boat' of a 'fall- deeply- into' chair. Its comfy but just comfortable enough.
I bought this as an anniversary gift to hubby after 20 years on the job. I've Always hated anything recliner because their so big, dark and in my eyes ugly and are made for basements but I don't have on so I kept saying no when hubby hinted every time he passed one while shopping. I finally felt guilty after all these years that dad doesn't have a true "dad chair" and I was on a mission to find one that looked modern had a color and style that would blend with the living room and not a giant dark leather blob that on top of being huge it has to stay far away from anything if you want to actually recline. Good old Overstock, I spent an hour looking on site then voila, I saw this recliner and I was sold. More on a modern look, beautiful color that has No trace of yellow hues that many light colored leather things do. Although sleeker than most recliners I didn't want the very mod ones that didn't have the smooshy arms it IS supposed to be a dad chair ya know. Now for the business end of the review.. The chair only needs to be 4 inches away from the wall (or anything) so it's not in the way of the way I already have my room laid out. The electric positioning system it has operates very quickly, smoothly and quietly.. The leather is baby soft and the seams don't pucker or show any stitching and I love that the chair is on little caster wheels and they Don't scratch my new hardwoods one bit and very handy for sliding the chair to vacuum the floor. It is a chair for one and my hubby is just under 200 lbs and had plenty of room and he can even lay on his side easily and just nod off in comfort. This chair has that all over smooshy kind of feel but isn't "understuffed" either. The ottoman part of it isn't skimpy like many I'd looked at. The price can't be beat! And comes to you FULLY constructed and the only thing you have to attach the back to the chair and that part is as simple as push down and click, Done. There was no skimping on the materials on this recliner and the photo doesn't show the back of it but it looks as good in the back as in the front. Just smooth heavy leather. So if you're looking for a compromise with a recliner hater I highly recommend this to you! My hubby was out cold in under an hour in this chair giving me complete control of the T.V. :)
Very easy to assemble and very good materials, however it's just not the right fit for me, since I'm a bigger man and I needed the seat to be much deeper, but it does promote good posture. You won't be disappointed unless you wish it had another two inches of depth in the seat. Although I sit up straight in the seat I wish it had a little recline to the upright position, otherwise I'd have to engage the footer to recline backwards.. Over all a good buy if under **** but if you are unsure or are a bigger person, you might want to rethink another brand.
Recieved today. Very secure and well packaged. I am a 60 yro Grandmother and this was very easy to put together, no tools required. Very soft and well padded, but I was expecting an electric power recliner (not a lift chair). I typed in power recliner and this chair came up under that category; the description also said power recline, but that was misleading. It is very comfortable, a full recline back, leg rest is strong and not flimsy. I am 5' 9" tall and the footrest could be a 3 or 4 inches longer. It is very comfortable but disappointed not a power recline.
