I was looking for a comfy recliner to sit in when writing - sometimes I write on my laptop for several hours a day. I didn't want a big ugly recliner in my home office guest room but I saw this online and it was so cute I gave it a try. I love it!!!
I think the chair will be fine for watching TV, which is why I bought it. It actually has a little support for the lumbar. The color is nowhere-near "taupe," but it is a very-pleasing color, nonetheless. It's more of a golden-brown tweed. The biggest issue was that there were no instructions, and the chair comes in many parts! Assembling the mechanism is not intuitive. But i got it together in spite of this, and everything seems to work fine. It doesn't recline completely, but I don't intend to sleep in it anyway. I'm not sure how the mechanism works, but it operates smoothly. I don't have to worry about the cats' getting caught underneath, because the mechanism is not like other recliners, and there really isn't any place for the cats to hide under it. Also, the parts container came open during shipment, and screws, nuts and bolts were all over the place inside the box. One of the bolts was stripped, but fortunately, I had a similar one in my garage, so I was able to complete the assembly. I had one piece left over. Wonder where that goes.
Bought this for a good deal. It's a great buy for a small chair. I doubt it will last long, but is easy to recline. Would be great if you could lift the legs up without reclining the back but it is what it is. I got it in taupe tweed which is a great color for my farmhouse look. If you hate overstuffed recliners and want something with a classic look- this is perfect.
