I recently moved and went looking for a new recliner - I set in so many and nothing seemed to be what I wanted - especially for the 800$ and over price tags. Then I decided to check overstock where I have purchased many items and always been pleased. I am happy to say I am very happy with my new recliner. I love everything about it - I was a little worried about the quality because the price was so good, but it is top quality and I love the fabric - it is a large recliner and a beautiful steel blue gray - so happy wish I could give 10 stars !!!!
Chair arrived within a week of the order. It was well packed and undamaged in shipping and dropped at front door. The picture color is fairly accurate but actual is slightly toned down and looks rich in our intended room. The somewhat thick leather is very nice and well constructed. The reclining steel mechanism is by depenedable Leggett and Platt. We have a articulating bed for the last ten years by L&P with no problems. Assembly is limited to bolting wood feet to chair base (see chair picture for location) and sliding the upper back onto chair bottom. The latter is easier with two people to align the steel prongs into the steel slides and then shove down to engage the steel clips into the square prong hole. Once engaged the back and bottom are well connected. The chair construction of encased springs with foam is very comfortable. The push back to recline is easy but firm and the hidden flip out ankle rest is ergonomic. We look forward to many years of comfort.
Finding a small scale recliner that looks more like a club chair than a recliner is difficult. The form and function rule doesn't seem to apply to recliners in general. I visited several furniture stores but couldn't find a decent looking recliner. Then as a last ditch effort I searched online and decided to take a chance on this recliner. At one tenth the price of my last recliner it was worth the gamble. It was! I'm very pleased with the recliner. I'm a person of small stature and the chair is very comfortable for me. It has a very neat appearance and isn't a pink elephant in the room. It is well engineered with a steel mechanism that integrates the stretcher supports. It's very stable and was easy to put together. The fabric is a bit drab in that it doesn't have any identity other than "neutral" but it would work in many different color schemes. The true test was that I slept for two hours in the chair the day after arrival. I couldn't be more pleased with my purchase.
